We need a boot show. They’ve done suede, they’ve done sneakers, so now we need a boot shoe.

Doesn’t even have to be shell. Sullivan’s, Fifth Street, First Ave, and I’m sure we can name a few more.
Hamiltons! I'm begining to think I made a mistake by not getting a Bourbon Shell Hamilton, especially with JR soles going away. Could've gotten a real stunner this time around had the Hamilton been offered with the Natural Shell upper.

Agree about the Hamilton. If that or any of these were offered, I'd be digging deep into my wallet:

Portland, Dundee, Shaker, Fifth Streets, Bleecker, or Cronmok.

They are waxed. No idea if it is Stead or not. I just wanted a plain pair of suede. Maybe the olive pair is but I am not going to play the wait and see game. The landons come in plain snuff suede but it would be another 3 weeks to get my size plus I don't love the toe cap and back trim in regular leather.
Returning today. Still shaking my head on this one :confused2:

You might check out the C&J Chiltern in “earth” green suede. It sits on the green-brown spectrum and is a nicely shaped chukka.

Shakers!!!!!!! That way Capt Kenny @peppercorn78 and I can design our dream Shakers.
I abandoned that dream long ago. I could have had a facsimile made by Enzo Bonafe a few years back, but ultimately decided I didn’t want it badly enough to drop 7 bills. Would have been awesome though. Hand welted goodness…

meanwhile my actual Shaker Heights boots need a resole, but I’m iffy about using AE recrafting since they kinda ruined my beloved grey McTavish. .:fu:

They call it light brown on the site but the invoice says "BRNTSGR". ?‍♂️

Well, as long as they don’t call it “Brown Sugar” then I guess all is fine.?

(Seeing the Stones Tuesday. Couldn’t resist.)

Good Morning old friends,

I was just perusing the AE site looking for laces for my Voyagers and I remembered that once upon a time I GMTO ordered pairs of Eagle River (I think that was the name) dress boots in BOTH navy blue and oxblood calf thanks to you filthy barn weasels.

Sadly I no longer have either pair.

But it was a fun memory!

Carry on, gents.

...you own a voyager?

Great looking chukka. I have brown and olive MD/AE unlined chukkas and love them until it gets cold out.
Unfortunately I really am a B width so that excludes so many great brands.

Seller made me an offer of $31 for these. I wasn't "watching" them, but just clicked them a few times because I didn't know AE made such color womens shoes in the past. I wonder if a Strand would look good in this color combo.

Time for AE to introduce the "Strand Queen"! For @BFT9000 's wife? Bump her back up to #3 in his life :p

Any thoughts on a brown shell Freeport with a sole change? I was trying to imagine how they would look on leather soles, Dainite, or Commando.

Reading posts from @ae_ashley it would seem there will be an option to order from the trunk show online? So perhaps there will be a digital mockup there, but I've [crudely] put together some ideas below.
Brown Shell Freeport with V-Tread.png

Caveat: I think the brown shell comes with darker brown edging, which is not accounted for. A solution could be sandpaper and neutral edge dressing/resolene.

Honestly, that sounds like a really good combination, and I don't even love the Freeport.
