Knee-deep in some custom work for Alabama today, so I thought I'd wear something in the crimson color area. SMU color #8 HMs from a trunk show a while back, before color #8 HMs became a standard offering.

It's that just the darndest thing? You had it first and then everybody got to follow in your footsteps.

They look great and such a deep, dark shade to boot!

Still waiting for my pair, which should be coming soon. I will be curious as to what they will look like after they patina in the Houston sunlight.
I’m going to try to make these weekend shoes as much as possible to watch them age. The girlfriend was all over me buying another pair, if they were these. (Probably doesn’t hurt I’m upgrading her shoes to Carmina and some more luxury women’s makers)

I think a shell Walton would be more interesting... there are some floating around but very difficult to find (I'd like a pair if someone has them hidden away in a 10ish). There is also the Bradley, obviously. I don't think the Wilbert is an ideal choice for the TS.

Wilbert is still being made. As I understand it they are limiting trunk shows to models actively being produced. Being able to chose soles would make it a far more normal NST.

I think that was true of the suede show but perhaps not the previous ones. I have Dundees, for example, which haven't been made in a while, and also used to have a shell First Ave, which is also no longer made I don't think.

It's been quite a while since I posted here, and that's not due to any lack of love for the thread, but more about multiple raging dumpster fires that date to the first of last year, add some COVID impacts (lockdown, relatively few wears, etc.) and a couple good-but-time-consuming things. All of that combined has meant very little time here on SF, which is a shame. :( (I also spent most of the second half of 2019 on a plane, too)

However, I was rifling around in my closet and found my custom (JR-sole) tan-nubuck Strandmoks and decided it was time to have an AE day. I'm even wearing AE socks!

I think me feet have some volume they didn't the last time I wore them... :rotflmao:

Other than that, they're treating me well - this is a great leather

Howdy to all the gang!

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures, a picture showing how well white suede Nomads go with white Angel's Trumpets.

This picture also shows once again my belt does not match my shoes. Am wearing a Darcy Clothing Company snake belt.
Well-paired sir. It really shows light shades of suede can be pulled into a less-casual look and thrive. I've really appreciated bone-suede chukkas in similar situations, but it's only seeing pix like this of people wearing it well that give me any confidence to do it.
