What is this leather called? It's like a weird patterned willow grain (sort of, but not).

This boot was made from leather that was patterned before it was cut and sewn together. I doubt that it’s CXL, as that leather is hard to pattern.

I like this patterned leather on the HM. I suspect that it’s some sort of prototype.

I was just looking again... there is something else that's odd about this boot. It has double stitching on the welt like how Alden does their split reverse welt.

I did not notice that until you pointed it out. That’s a great detail that would look good with a football grain leather.
Don’t you agree, @ae_ashley ?

Not necessarily new shoes.
Just shoes.
You know, to stay relevant.

Shoes.

The pain I felt when I learned I missed those almost sent me to the hospital. They are probably my dream shoe...even if I only got to wear them for St Pat's. Knowing now that MacNeils have been phased out, and weren't even included in the last trunk show shell collection...yeah, the prospective cardiologist bill will probably cost me more than the damned shoes. Well, with my luck, they'll be reintroduced after I get last rites.

It also says “fine imported leather” on the insole. CXL is not imported.
Everything says fine imported leather. It always has. AE still sells mostly imported leathers. Calf, suede, and even some of the Stead casual leathers.
