I have wanted to ask about the fit of those Silverlakes, and kept forgetting. I saw those on eBay when they were first listed several months ago.

I normally wear a 13B — Higgins Mill, for example. Sometimes I will wear a 13D or 14B if I want a little roomier boot. How do those Silverlakes fit compared to a Higgins Mill? Are they longer, or shorter? How about the volume of the forefoot area?

Thanks.
So, the Silverlakes seem to be the same length wise, as the Higgins Mill. This biggest difference I noticed between the two was the Higgin's Mill's volume seems to come from the width of the forefoot area, where-as the Silverlake seems like it's volume comes more from the height, if that makes sense. If you'd like I can do some side-by-side pictures when I get home tonight.

Happy Monday forum pals. I am looking forward to seeing some newly arrived shark shoes this week. None for me, but I want to see yours. Boots from the other guys today to give me a HM vibe.

That makes sense to me.
Thank you.

@Shoenut asked is it Spring yet? It's around 73F here today.

Wearing Flagstaff penny loafers today (although later realized should have worn white suede Nomads). The Flagstaffs were made by Dominicans, so to keep things exotic, put Canadian pennies in them.

If I put quarters in them they would be two bit loafers and thusly twice as good as bit loafers.

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures.

Shoe-must-match-belt fetishists may notice the blue surcingle belt with fish on it does not match the shoes.

For fans of the "Preppier-Than-Thou" frayed look, how the ends of ties I got at Brooks Brothers when they were $6.50 look.

All is forgiven especially because you are wearing "Nantucket Red" pants on the west coast and out of season once again proving that you have both amazing and unique personal style.

Should we call it "East Coast meets West Coast Preppy"?

HI

Recently purchased a Ballard.. Very interesting shoe, light and comfortable. Versatile can be dressed up or down. Made in USA. Love it so far. A direction, I would like to see AE pursue, ultra-light, ultra-comfortable dress shoes.
Not a fan of sneakers

Awesome as ever @Roycru!

Question for you gents. I recently acquired a Surrey Chelsea boot second hand. It appears that they were worn maybe with possibly raw denim.

So I shampooed, brushed (reset the suede), and edge dressed them. I tried a suede eraser on the affected areas with a little success, but not much.

My question is, should I just wax (beeswax waterproof) them and not worry about it, or is there something else I should try first?

In other words, “to wax, or not to wax, that is the question.”
