I got mine BNIB on the Bay for 80 bucks.

I have an eBay saved search for them, but at least for the last couple of years they have been few and far between in 10D or 9.5E.

It's funny, if they were shell I would be willing to pay full retail.

Alden is a better boot maker in general, with more options, though I like what AE offers there, too. But Alden has an awful lot more in terms of boots.

That's what I consider Alden's greatest strength. Their plain toe options in shoes are awesome as well.

let's face it, both AE and Alden are great American shoe companies. Perhaps different approaches to the market, but both great.

Well, if you like them, wear them. Just for me they are simply ugly. If I want sneakers, I'll buy sneakers from a sneaker company, I don't want dress shoe uppers with sneaker soles. But if you like them, wear them.

Yeah. Why not just buy a nice pair of keds or converses? If I want a leather shoe, I buy a dress shoe. If I want a sneaker, I buy a sneaker. He'll, I didn't fully mind the leather sneakers ae was producing beforehand.

I will say this:

The PA sneaker is way more attractive than the voyager. Lololol the voyager is the single ugliest show I've ever seen from any decent company.

I traded mine for the Santa Mok boot (left).
There's also been a Shelton version (back in 08 or 09). And the Rudolph, a brown Strandmok with red cap. Plus the summer time 1776...
