Well, when you find yourself unemployed and have:

A) Reached the end of the Internet
B) Exhausted your savings by buying more shoes
C) Have run out of things to watch on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime/Disney+, etc.
D) Applied to every job that you have the experience/skill set for in the lower 48
E) Get yelled at by the wife to find something to do
F) Made as many shell watch bands as you have orders for
G) Need to show off your Long Branches

You do this:

On lucky job site number 13

And just when you thought you were just about finished (three weeks until a family closes on this house)...

They pour another slab next door...

My brown pair and gray pair of Long Branches have seen more work in the past few weeks then they have since I bought them...

So after several months (all during the pandemic so no ability to get to a store) and many pairs of shoes on different lasts, I think I may have finally figured out the only AE shoes and sizes that work for me:
  • 10D Wilbert, Leeds
  • 9.5E Strand/65Last
(calfskin only, the way suede and cordovan are lasted make this and any other size too tight or too big).
Now that I have Wilberts in both Brown (calf) and Dark Brown (CXL), what other AE shoes should I consider to sloooooooooowly fill out my collection as I move towards more casual shoes. As mentioned in an earlier post, I already have these from other brands:
- Alden 971 x Brooks Brothers straight tip cap-toe bluchers - black calf
- Alden 972 x Brooks Brothers straight tip cap-toe bluchers - walnut brown calf
- Alden 9695F x Brooks Brothers penny loafers - black calf
- Alden 9697F x Brooks Brothers penny loafers - brown suede
- Carmina 531 Derby/PTB - brown suede
- And Meermin Snuff SuperBuck NST blucher on the way....

What say the AE shoe aficionados?

If you’ve reached the end of the internet you have seen some things that you’ll never unsee.

(1) because I don't want to have to explain dropping that much on shoes at one time; and
(2) some part of me worries they'd do both but not have any styles I like/want/need/fit

You don't have to explain anything if no one finds out, right? ;)

I read stuff like this and I think some of you guys are way more discriminating about fit than I am

I think I'm TTS in everything but maybe I'm just lazy (I hate trying stuff on and stores don't stock B width anyway) and low maintenance
