Working from home seems to end up with more hours worked than normal. Haven't been able to check on everything going on here. Guess there's a sale on the Independence line! SF store hasn't reopened, though I probably shouldn't be spending more anyhow...

That is some good work! Must feel very satisfying to restore something like that, especially when it was such a deal.

Got an eBay deal of my own recently: burgundy shell Leeds. First AE derby, too. Everything else has been oxford style. Enjoying them so far, and shell on a non-boot is kind of fun.

In other new, it's really nice to be eating at a restaurant again, even if it involves wind blowing half your stuff away the whole time.

And one day they'll let us use soda fountains again. One day...

Hope everyone is doing well!
I have been using COVID as an excuse whenever I eat out by telling myself that deep frying sterilizes things.

Did you not ever see the 9th Wonder of the World, pic?

oh I’ve seen it and I know he has a ton of strands. I had no issue believing 70+, I just had a hard time believing someone so obsessed dedicated to collecting one model wouldn’t keep exact count

Keeping count makes it real. That can shatter one's reality.

In my experience there’s the number that you tell yourself, the number you tell your friends, the number you tell your wife, and the real number you know in your heart

For those who have always wanted a walnut pair of strands like me, the Bartlett's are for $184 at the moment. Can't really go wrong IMO. Can someone post pictures comparing both?

For comparison with Strands and Bartletts, from left to right below are the two pairs of Rush Streets, a walnut Strand, and a walnut Bartlett:

hell yes it’s true. It’s the only good thing about 2020

If 2020 were a candy, it would be sugar-free gummy bears that cause anal leakage.

Nothing specatacular here but what I've ordered in this Sale so far. Have my eye on Achesons and who knows what else, too. Over the w/e, I was debating whether to purchase the apparently much maligned Daytona. At today's price I had to try it and I am hoping it fits the bill for me as a light summer shoe/slipper of sorts for indoors and patio wear as even my boat shoes feel too hot and heavy for lounging in this heat! And the belt for my oxblood MacNeils. Love those!
Driving shoe!
Thought about to get something cheap, but those Daytona's look nice and cheap.

Not familiar with these, but seems much higher rated and only $20 more expensive

Do you usually go size or half size up when buying driving shoes? Like if I normally wear 9D in Park Ave. Should I size up to 9.5D in above?
