Looks like they closed the Clarksburg Allen Edmonds outlet... they had a lot of problems with the staff there I think, and o never saw people buy much.
Sad to see so many of the outlet locations closing over the past few years...

Thank you!

So I think it will be a 13EE. Gotta see if I can order a size in calf to try.

Does suede fit like calf or larger like shell?

Calf. Only shell fits loose. Despite all of its strengths regarding durability, shell has much lower tensile strength than regular leather, so they don’t last it as tightly to avoid tearing.

A year ago, staff seemed to not know anything about the products at all. They changed staff, and maybe that improved—or maybe not

I'm not sure that would drives sales down to the point of necessitating a closure. My guess is most people shopping at an outlet only talk to staff to checkout or check on availability. Not many asking about construction or lasts etc.

A good salesperson creates a sale by connecting with the customer. This means actually seeing what the customer is doing and asking what they may like. It goes further, but a good salesperson can create demand. I didn’t observe that

I agree, just don't that's the difference between a viable store and one closing. Could it have helped, sure of course.

Well, the last store I was in, I mentioned I was going to make an effort this year to buy more in-store than my usual online, to which they replied something like, "Well, it is easier". No card offered or offer to update me on the (then) upcoming suede TS which we talked about. Does handing out cards assure a sale? Absolutely not (I can tell you from experience) but in this case it would have helped to build the relationship I was open to. Or at least offer a call to me when the suede TS details are known as I would at least Have to execute that through a store. But... (in addition to seeing I purchased 12 of my 13 AE's online) maybe they were wise enough to discern I was probably just a tire kicker. And also possibly true.

Question about fit on the 511

I had a pair of shell Leeds in 13EEE and they were too roomy.
I then bought a shell Bradley in 13E, and while it fits good I wish it was slightly wider.

So my thought was im probably a 13EE in the 511 last.

However, I recently got a pair of MD unlined suede chukkas in 13EEE and they fit good

So now I'm at a loss if I should get a Leeds or Dundee in 13EE or 13EEE.

Would a suede Dundee fit same as MD chukka?
Thank you!

I've got Strands, same size, in all 3 materials. My experience fwiw is no fit difference between shell and calf; but suede runs more snug than both of those.
