The shoes by Thursday Boots have a sole that looks like that. Here's a video showing the sole of a Thursday shoe -- it's exactly like you thought, with a rubber piece stuck through holes that were cut in the leather.
Interesting, not quite leather, not quite Dainite. Maybe it's a new item: Leathainite™

Bought a bunch in TS2019, and these were the surprise favorite for most worn.
Matches everything. If HMs fit, highly recommend blue!

Mmmm suede.

I would think snuff and tobacco (or some other dark brown) and probably another neutral but I'd hope that some more interesting colors would be options. I really don't want to see loden, taupe or any other bland colors they have used in the past.

I'd probably lean more to a strandmok just because it's cheaper but I'd prefer to see the Hamilton, Dalton and Sullivan. Timing isn't great for me as I'm already paying full price for some Navy suede soon and recently pick up the above Pattons.

Hitting Wednesday with a nice stride in Hershey's chocolate brown shell Strand. These have a positively delicious glow about them.

I’m wearing the Rogues today.
I think that the oversized brogueing would look good in suede. Who’s with me?

Agreed. AE did a suede Rogue for Joseph Abboud awhile back. Hopefully a stock shell option will be on the table for the Rogue. The Fullerton would be another good one to bring out of the vault for a suede TS. Hubbins has a pair if memory serves.

I don't own these, just found the pic
