Never figured I'd wake up to Independence firsts being under 200 bucks yet here we are.

And now I have to decide if I want something that's EXTREMELY close to my strands but is incredibly difficult to get a mirror shine without cracking due to the softness of the leather, or if I want a fresh barrel for my 300 blackout. :hide:

I think at least some of the Bridgeton models are polished cobbler.

It gets out of hand real quick when you think you've found a deal or a "once in a lifetime" find every week!
It is polished cobbler, 5089, Fall 2000 catalog. There was a chili and black calf version(s) too

Yup. When I saw the burg, I knew they were going to be polished cob. Good job finding them so quick in the catalog!

Oh, I thought it was orphaned shoes, lacking a mate!

Quality over quantity...your wallet will thank me later when you don't have to sell off many many pairs that didn't quite fit right or you just don't wear because they weren't quite what you wanted...many on the thread, myself definitely included, know this pain.

"Quality over quantity...your wallet will thank me later." True words my friend. In the last 5 years I have gone through A LOT OF SHOES. And like many of the thread, I now find myself needing far fewer dress shoes because of a change in work. But for today, it is TS 2019 bourbon Leeds I just do not select them as often as others. But I can feel a change coming on in the afternoon to another neglected pair.

while not having a mortgage payment the next two months is a lovely thing, we're using that for improvements to the front of the house, "curb appeal" things. Windows, new door/storm door/trim, and new concrete sidewalk/steps up to the door. I have about 4 years left till I retire, and we want to maximize our gain when we list the house, so we're starting a number of renovations soon. Nothing major inside; carpet and fresh vinyl (kitchen/bathrooms), refinish existing cabinets and new counters, and a new deck out back.

But we're keeping ourselves limited on the fun stuff till then (minus an upcoming vacation in a couple weeks, but that's still FAR less than our euro adventure woulda been) so it's either/or in this instance. Leaning toward the barrel though. I already have walnut strands, and the walnut jeffy is the only one in my size right now so....

And even with the best arm, the Jefferson would be hard pressed to reach even 100 feet per second muzzle velocity, so there's that...
