Black shell Macs for 3 bills? Fantastic bargain! You win the AEAT thread for this week.

But you CAN'T confine a shoe that nice to Funeral Duty! Never mind business suits, don't you wear navy or gray worsted trousers from time to time? Those Macs will just glow under navy or gray, throw a sweater on top if you don't like sport coats, and walk like a giant. Hell, some guys here would wear those black gun boats with selvedge denim.
The "other" black shoes were AE Memphis, basically a cap toe balm on a squishy rubber sole. I may keep them, I've been a pallbearer several times and I'm not sure I want to wear JR soles on snowy grass in winter. But the Memphis is not something I would reach for for fun.

These, on the other hand, may get bright orange laces and go with black jeans on Halloween. My burgundy Macs are getting a casual makeover right now, so maybe I can find a way to work these in a bit more often.

Great shoes, congrats.

LWB can be used with suits or in more casual ways. I use my black LWB with jeans and I don't care how my friends or coworkers feel if I am the best shoed man in the party. I don't feel the need to blend. A great Rush song says:

Subdivisions
In the high school halls
In the shopping malls
Conform or be cast out
Subdivisions
In the basement bars
In the backs of cars
Be cool or be cast out

I decided / accepted that I am not cool.
Ha you mean this song:

Bought the album the week it was released, and saw the tour. Thanks for the memory, I'll clean it and listen to it tonight. :)

I’ve been wearing my Daltons, Williamsburgs, and Hamiltons pretty frequently over the past couple of weeks and I am fearing that my brogues (McAllisters, Strands, and Fifth Aves) will stop getting worn.

My boots are just more comfortable, and I think I know why. As the heel of my foot has molded the beds, I think my heel has sunk down a little which has allowed for my ankle bone to rub against the sides. Any suggestions? I’m thinking about putting some renovateur on the areas that are rubbing to try to soften them up, but I’m not hopeful it will really accomplish anything. I also got some wool socks from AE that are thicker than the wool ones I have from Brooks Brothers, but the difference isn’t that noticeable.

If I wanted to limit myself to seven pairs, this forum thread would be the worst place to be.
For the longest time I owned 2 black PA, 2 brown PA and 2 burg PA to wear at work in rotation. I was happy and felt well dressed.

then I came here, now I buy way more than 7 new pairs of shell each year
