I recently picked up some second-hand Lloyds in oxblood, and I'm appreciating them, despite the corrected grain. The 97 last fits just right.

Was just going to add, I think you probably made the right decision. It sounds like you really need a 13 EEE. I'd hate to hear you order the 14 E and find out it doesn't fit well. I hope to visit Singapore one day! Thanks for that info Andrew. I do not have anything in 1943 last but I remember enquiring about the Cornwallis before (on AEE FB page) and had decided this particular last is not for me and I am unwilling to do trial and error with me being in Singapore. Will pass on the Chili University.
A couple of things to remember. Brown or Natural CXL, just like Shell is a race to medium brown. The greasy brown CXL stuff from Saphir can darken your brown. I use brown Cordovan cream on CXL. Cause no wax. Third thing is just leave them alone and see what happens. One more RDA purchase, Pattons in natural chromex:

There's a slight L-R color difference which doesn't bother me in the least—variance is part of chromex charm.
Very nice. However, I'm not seeing as big of a difference between natural and brown chromex as we saw in this post of Ashley's.
In comparison with my OG brown Higgies, there isn't much daylight between them:

I believe AE's current brown chromex is significantly darker than my original brown, which would account for the difference. The current Horween natty is certainly an attractive option, but this is something owners of older brown chromex models may want to consider. Unless the current natty will change color in a significant way with age, I'm not seeing enough difference that would cause me to reach for one over the other.
I’ve got so much cedar in my closets no moth is bothering mine!
Indeed they are. Same with every factory flat lace from AE and Alden (guarded goods do well though).
