Another picture of my Daltons. These boots don't really fit me all that well (a little tight in the pinky toe area), and it was 90 degrees today... but I could not resist wearing them. I wear them all the time.

I pulled an @smfdoc and posted a few different brands on my top 5 over on the Alden thread (even snuck an AE through the gate) but I’ll do an AE top 5 here -

Guys, chili shell cordovan looks incredible. The color is amazing, better even than the photos shown off during the show. This pair fits me perfectly, just like the pair in shaved shell, and the craftsmanship is fantastic. The welt/edge and stitching on this pair are some of the best I've ever received.

Only noticeable flaw is that there's a pretty big uneven ridge on the toe caps. Other than that, they're impeccable. Not going to affect me from keeping these but I'm wondering what you fellow weasels think about these.

Hey all - I’ve been out of pocket for two weeks, and it seems unlikely I will make it though the nearly 100 pages of AE thread that have occurred since then. May I request the weasel recapping service? Lots of trunk show goodness?

Lots of us have Eagle County on the top 5 list, but yet AE discontinued it, and doesn't bring it back.....odd.

I ef'd up a bit last night. I was lulled into a conversation with Mrs. smfdoc about specialized Christmas attire for parties. With Ipad in hand I showed her the jingle bell moc from the AE website. First comment was, "Aw those are cute."

Second response a nano-second later was, "$400!? You don't spend that much on shoes, do you?" :hide:

That reminds me, I have to cancel that damn catalog delivery to the house.
That was a calculated psychological attack by Mrs. Smfdoc. She's on to you now fella. Lbvs!

So this was waiting on the porch today :)

Bourbon with the buff welt and edge. Absolutely love the color. Exactly what I was hoping for. Inside under warm lighting it almost reminds me of some shades of ravello.

I love the contrast of the buff welt. It looks like they make some decisions on what looks best. The welt is buff, but the edge is a bit darker, closer to translucent brown or antique. I love it. Will keep it up probably with the chili edge dressing.

Here are some pictures. This is at night inside under warm lighting. I included a couple with flash as well. Hoping to get a few shots in the daylight this week.

Now here is some QC issues. I am hesitant to return just because I love the color and dont want to risk getting something lighter. Maybe should ask for 2nds pricing. What do you guys think?

I'd like to see a front and top view of them laced up and on your feet.

Well once my keyboard pops up the entire visible window that's left is consumed by an ad that can't be closed or minimized so hopefully this posts properly. Thanks Fok!!

If it's the same thing I've experienced, I found (using the "PREV" and "NEXT" arrows within the thread) that clicking back a page and then forward again will remove the ad and give an unobstructed view. Good luck.
