2019.1 brown shell HM on commando with guarded goods laces and 34 heritage stretch denim observing an unfortunate overlap of holiday decorations

Participation in a certain online forum has required me to re-evaluate some of my less frequently worn footwear. I may be recent to the forum but my relationship with footwear goes back to teenage years wearing TopSiders and Weejuns. Along the way, I've made some purchases that I wore to death (I've lamented that I can't find more saddle shoes in my size) and others that saw very little use. I dug one of those out for today.

I'm not sure about this one, it looks to me like a Randolph and a Wilbert had a baby. They are actually very well made, and the leather is surprisingly soft for how thick it is. They are also quite comfortable, and yet they have seen very little wear over the years. I believe the are called Winnetkas. Regardless, this may be their final trip with me.

Some decent deals on the extra 20%, nothing that fills a particular hole in my line up. Oxblood MacNeil for $170 is tempting but with a Merlot McAllister and Oxblood 5th ave just not something I need. Tupelo is nice as well but already have a Kiowa so...

Now if those tumbled HM's had been in black in my size I'd have gotten them as I have very little in black.

Frequent lurker, highly-infrequent poster. At any rate, here's my humble submission for today - brown CXL Higgies. Not nearly as cool as the exotic TS items being posted, but I like them.
Every bit as cool, if you ask me. That model of HM is sure to be a new classic.
What I find interesting is this, I read on here that you guys get magazines from AE, and they come with coupon codes for money off purchases. I'm not saying I'm some super collector like most people on here, and I can't justify paying for shell at the moment, when I can pay for an entire vacation here in Europe for the same amount as a pair of shoes/boots. However, I have purchased 6 pairs of shoes, 6 shoe trees, 1 belt, brushes, and creams, all since around Fathers Day this year, and I've yet to receive a magazine or get a coupon code e-mailed to me or anything.
Usually I get them, other times I don't. Only sometimes do they include a coupon code. Don't despair, the codes are only effective on full price items, so you aren't missing out on a once in a lifetime deal.

Shell is cool, but not everyone likes it. Though to your point about price, with the quantity you acquired, you could have easily bought a full price shell boot during the trunk show.

Am I the only one who sees this picture as a leg in dress pants crossed over a leg in jeans? Great shoes by the way!!!!
Lol...I see that too.
No, it’s my Donegal tweed overcoat.

So my Fifth Streets arrived! Bought them from a member here on SF and they fit fine! No heel slippage whatsoever. My only issue is the v gap, but it looks normal for this type of boot no?
