I do like the Caen (ver 1) and Normandy (ver 1) and the Caenormandy (ver 2 of both). I am a fan of the leather sole on Normandy version 1, and the gusset tongue on both. Would prefer a combo of eyelets/speed hooks, but that is just me. I don't know if a 10.5D would be good ,going from a B width to a D might be a bit much, I think the length would be ok, but even in Brannock device size, the boots are somewhat roomy in the toe box, at least on my feet. The suede Caen's are a good suede boot, and contrary to what some have said, I'm getting pretty good life from the clear lug soles (but I have a fairly large rotation of boots)Also is there a place to sign up to get trunk show updates?
@audog those Normandy’s are great - and I know you’ve recommended the Caen suede boots before. There is Normandy suede in 10.5D - considering if they are worth giving a shot (11B in 65 last but a bit of a big V gap)
Yes, it is still an ongoing "experiment" I will post some pictures today. They are holding up very, very well to a year of abuse and no care, other than being sprayed clean with a garden hose a couple of times. It's about time to do a REAL cleaning/conditioning and see what they look like, and then, if still sound put into a more normal rotation.@audog thanks for the run down. Also - weren’t you doing a beat the snot out of HM for a year experiment? Any updates?
You can get the shell HM on single oak...The Alpine cap toe boot looks good, as does the Shell HM, but it's on a Dainite sole, so that throws it out of the equation for me. The best boot AE has made in recent years isn't even in the lineup. The Normandy on leather sole! View attachment 1227907
You HAD to tell me that, didn't you. I already have a couple of things on pre-order with other companies, but maybe I "need" a HM on single oak...............You can get the shell HM on single oak...
I only mentioned it because I noticed it the other day when the shell version was announced as a regular member of the lineup, and in the interest of full disclosure (not to be a weasel or anything)...You HAD to tell me that, didn't you. Dundee is a bit different fit being lined. The MDs can feel a bit narrower out of the box (and seem to look sleeker as well). Not enough that I would change sizes, though.Dundee question:
I don't own any of the 3 eye Dundee but I own a Massdrop x AE 2 eye Dundee and I'm thinking about 1 or 2 shell Dundees in TS2019.2. Is the fit on the 3 eye identical to the massdrop 2 eye?
I presume its the same but want to confirm
These are great shoes! I love my pair. They are way overdressed and too conservative for my current work, but I will wear them anyway if I want! These are why I am seriously considering a green Strand with double JR. If they had included the Cambridge in this TS19.2, I'd be REALLY stuck and probably have to buy 6 pairs in the show!Maiden voyage of the Cambridge in black shell.

These black wings bring to mind the 62 series Cadillac. Long, low, stylish and they have a sweet comfortable ride.
Classic AEs that I suspect would look fantastic in chili shell (the McAllisters sure do).
Have a good one.
