That would be a home-run...

So for now it looks like the ability to do JR customizations are just for new first quality shoes. We're not offering it as a recraft upgrade currently, but I can tell you that we can look into that going forward. I'll keep you all up to speed of any updates we have there.

Still - a triple at least. Having the rule about the JR sole for shell-only seemed strange when just about every cobbler and The Hanger Project's resoling service would do it without question always seemed very obtuse.

Thanks for that giant leap forward!!

I know a lot of us are saving for TS19.2 in a few weeks but i just happened to check the AE website and maybe i didnt notice before but there’s an extra 20% off clearance shoes (30% for some summer styles).
This makes staples like the Strand, Park, 5A, and MacNeil cheaper than the Shoebank.

Keep me in mind if those Leeds don't fit!
I certainly will! They are 8 EEE’s - initially they are ok. A full day in them may be a different story.

Some Renovateur and brushing - they are nice. The previous owner had laces with metal aglets, so the tongue needed a bit of attention on one shoe.

The color is gorgeous.

I think I was looking at that pair as well, but ultimately decided decided to save the cash for the trunk show.

Maybe a naive question, since I only have JR on one rarely used formal shoe, but I don't use it in the rain or in really any challenging conditions mostly because I expect any all leather sole to be slippery as hell when I inevitably go indoors. (It's less about babying shell). Is there something unique about JR leather soles compared to other leather soles other than their legendary longer-wearing nature? Are they lighter, better grip?
Rain and leather existed long before the invention of rubber soles.

I think you may have already answered this a couple dozen pages ago, but how are those Natty Academy's so dark? Mine are about 2 years old and no where near that dark. Lots of conditioning?

The only conditioner I’ve used is Bick 4, so I don’t think that’s it. Part of it is no doubt the lighting, but I wear the crap out of these and as a result they’ve developed a nice patina.

This is my only Walnut pair that I have kept that color. Maybe in a week or two I will finish playing around with my Madison Parks.
