Not to beat a dead horse TOO much but trunk show or not there would seem to be no logical reason why a regular AE shell shoe couldn't be made up in other regular shell colors given (we are told) that all AE shell is essentially made up on an as needed basis.

"Hey Charlie, make up these next 12 Bradleys in brown." Would that be so hard?

The artificial scarcity drives up demand.

Walnut shell Strands today from 2014. I haven't worn these in a very long time due to a nonexistent balmoral need and their color character has evolved pretty crazily. The way the different panels shine varying hues but still show a uniform color under consistent light is unlike anything else I own.

Those look exactly how I envision Chili looking in my head. I would not be mad about it if I were correct.

I won't be able to attend an event in person, but if I could somehow grab a shaved shell Strand, I think I'd want one with a buff edge and flat welt. I really love the way the Viberg scuffed service boot looks with that combo.

For chili I'm thinking something a little darker - maybe an antique edge like the walnut calf Strand.

Leeds pretty much never come with a flat welt. I think some of the really old ones might, but not in recent years.

I've got the Shaved shell on my Must list. Will be kickass on the Bayfield. And I know where I have to be, and when, to get that shoe made up for me. Will I get there?

This is why I wouldn’t want split reverse on a shell strand... I thought the same for the navy daltons, but it may give depth to the shoe to have the louder welt
