Doing my part to participate in the Trunk Show adventure by wearing those floppy tongued fools, the grey suede Strandmok 2.0's.

On the off chance anyone doesn't see the connection, the shoes are grey, elephants are grey, and elephants have trunks.

For fans of food pictures in shoe threads, also doing my part to participate in National Afternoon Tea Week (Aug 12th-18th 2019).

Once again, on the off chance anyone is wondering, those are cheese and Branston Pickle sandwiches.
@Roycru any chance of you making it down to South Coast?

This is helpful. Wonder if Amaretto be the closest?

Nah, I don't think so. Amaretto is pretty orange. Almost like a burnt orange depending upon the light. I think it's a pretty different cast than what @ae_ashley described. Here's my pair for reference.

This is why I think it’s likely between garnet and #4

I knew you'd have a great response!

So, I actually have a question I've been meaning to pose to you about your white trousers. I like have one pair of very light chinos or linens, but it seems I always get some sort of blemish (usually a black scuff from something rubbing against me at work). For this reason I'm reluctant to wear them to work, making them a very occassional garment. What's your philosophy? Do you let them patina (but still look good from other's perspective/distance), or are you just extremely careful when you wear and try to keep them spotless?

Also doing my part to keep the page count in this thread high by posting today's "A-E In The Wild" picture and answering several questions in a separate post.

With an old panel truck and some very good advice that everyone who likes their shoes will agree with.

It's around 96F here in the San Fernando Valley (a place best avoided if possible) today.

In answer to @madhat's question, lighter colored clothing gets dirtier easier than darker colored clothing. Some things are fairly easy to get off. When something gets something on it that shows prominently and I can't get it off or when something gets really dirty, it goes to the cleaner or into the washing machine.

The ivory silk jacket in the picture has some things even the cleaner (Margaret's Cleaners) can't get out, but still wear it. Also still wear some jackets that have moth holes in them. Draw the line at wearing trousers with moth holes in them. Trousers with moth holes get patched.

@ProfilaBinding and @2Deuce2, am not going to the Trunk Show at the Costa Mesa store. It's a long drive for me. Probably would have gone if the Trunk Show was at the Century City store.

I think it could be somewhere between color 4 and ravello. Color 4 is still pretty red. I don't know... I ended up suggesting color 4 myself earlier in the thread.

Are these Bayfields? Look like they might be

No, these are not made by AE. They are Carmina MTO. Sorry, I was just trying to show Amaretto since it's a new color and there aren't a lot of them floating around. The bayfield doesn't have a medallion but is otherwise similar. I think it was only made in brown shell (and calf) but I could be wrong.
