It's a matter of QC, someone should have caught that.

Well, received some brand new first quality black shell McNeil’s.

I am now seriously worried.

The pinking is effed up on both shoes. I tried to stay positive, but have now fallen victim to the QC issues as well. *sigh

Last fall I got some standard-as-hell burgundy MacNeils after a few month wait. I was unimpressed:

There was some tar-like substance in the brogueing near the heel.

Sloppy pinking.

The heel had a scrape where the finish was buffed off.

More sloppy pinking.

Anywho, I’ve gotten lots of AE shoes, seconds and otherwise that have had no issues, so they have some good will in the bank. I cleaned the tar off, trimmed the pinking and re-did the heel edge dressing, so no biggie.

But still.

I’ve never seen an AE shoe at either of the two Racks I shop occasionally.

My introduction to quality footwear was a pair of walnut Strands from Nordstrom Rack 4 years ago.

Wore my Williams today. These have had the most extreme creasing across the top. Anyone else experience this? It might just be a sign that the last isn't the best for me.
