YES! Great boot and perhaps the best color they did in the Caen.

I have very narrow feet. They are B width, which is my normal. I can wear some A widths but some A's are too narrow. Believe it or not, these actually fit me well. I rarely get much lace gap.

I've wondered about this often. Since we (USA) don't consume horse's, there must be a limited, very limited, supply as it must all come from attrition or accidental death. But that makes me wonder, if in countries where horse meat is consumed, are there more hides to be made into shell?

OK, just was wondering as they are such nice boots, wanted to make sure you had a good fit. If you like em, I do too.

I have read otherwise from several articles.
“Today, the company’s primary constraint on shell cordovan production is one of supply. It gets hides from French-speaking Canada and parts of Europe where people still eat horsemeat, a practice that is dwindling.” Plus an interview with Nick Horween.

Turns out the shell Patriots in the shoebank I was looking at are not on clearance. Oh well, maybe down the line. And the golden brown Long Branches are gone in my size. Nevertheless, Ashley found a pair of brown suede Liverpools for me, which I picked up at the Clearance price tonight. Have been looking for a pair of these in my size for several months. So, all good.

Wonder what horse meat tastes like? OK, should stop drinking with the friends who are watching some stupid "got talent" type of TV show, while I'm doing important things like looking at shoe threads.

Oh, so it's like alligator, or snake, or turtle or any one of a myriad of other meat that "tastes like chicken" but really doesn't. And yes, I have eaten alligator, snake and turtle.

Whats up with orders split into multiple shipments, but all pieces of the order getting the same tracking number even though there are multiple?

Might have something to do with shipping from both PW and Tennessee. I ordered a few pair of AE laces and they sent 10 different emails, shipped the 10 pair in 3 envelopes, 1 from TN and 2 from PW- but all had the same tracking number. Confused me, but everything got here and all on the same day.

The France connection for Shell keeps coming up.
    https://www.leather-dictionary.com/index.php/Horsehide_-_Horse_leather
“The raw material therefore comes from a few specialist manufacturing companies. An American market leader in Cordovan production gets 75 percent of its skins from France and 25 percent from the Canadian province of Québec.”
