...and surely Captain Longwing aka @AEShoeMan can bust out a few from his fleet. :fistbump:
Did someone say longwings... :hide:
I'd tend to agree that the MacNeil has a "sleeker" shape than Alden or Florsheim. I'd be happy to provide comparison shots at some point, but spoilered here are some examples of a few pair from the archives that kind of focused on the toe.

Speaking of Fifth Streets, I'm considering making a TS order for a pair of Burgundy Fifth Streets. It'll probably be raining a lot in the coming winter here and I still need to look presentable at work. What do you all think the practical limit is on how dressed up a pair can be? Would you wear that combination with a suit?

Unrelated photo of my Fifth Aves, so I can finally contribute something :p

In my opinion burgundy Fifth Streets on a flat welt and leather soles would be fine with all but the most formal suits.
I have several #8 shell derby boots that skew a bit more casual. Trying to avoid too much duplication, or I would be very interested in the burgundy or chili. As I look at my collection and the holes I would like to fill, I am leaning toward a brown pair of Fifth Streets on flat welt with translucent edge, double JR soles for the same purpose as you.
I would love a Leeds or Dundee in Navy, but just can’t seem the get the 511 last to work for me.

Thank you for your advice!

I just actually purchased the Leeds 2.0 PTB in brown pebble grain. As I've wanted a PTB for a long time, it had the dainite sole, and the price was too good to pass up at around $150. Plus I have a matching belt here for it and shoe trees.

Although, I've looked at some of your options and I will consider them as we get into the cooler months as I'm looking to build my winter business casual shoe collection.

Just curious I'm an 11D-will the 511 last work for me?

If not, you guys may see it for sale on here as I probably won't want to go through the expense and hassle of sending it back.
Glad to be of assistance. Funny that you went with brown pebble grain Leeds as that was my choice of shoe this morning. It is football Thursday after all. :)

As for the 511 question, I’ll let others respond to that one.

Thanks, does anyone know how Fifth Street would look like with reverse welt?
Like the Hamilton with less brogueing
Yeah, glad Olive is not available. I’ve spent enough on boots this month. ?

Fun fact: there are five pairs of MD chukkas in my house currently. Luckily only three are mine. (One active for son, other back up to grow in to).
I'm tempted by the black, as I don't have any summer black suede, but I really don't need six unlined chukkas in my rotation (two aren't MDs)!

What last is Fifth Street? I have Fifth Street Black Calf in 10.5D, and they wear comfortably. Should I get 10.5D as well for Chili Shell?
Of course you should! I am, too!

I’ve ordered in Sand color.

I love butyl soles, but I think v-tread on the MD chukka would have been amazing.

Beautiful shoes!

Just curious, will the AE brown football leather belt work with this version of the Leeds?
