First gen nomads are without question the standard 42 last (with lots of volume). The Shane is from the same year and also on the "old" 42 before being replaced with the narrower 42N. I suspect you may just have a pair that fits narrower due to the poron, mislasting, or mislabeling.

Hi guys, I'm considering helping @pbrandes make room for a new pair. I wear 9.5D on the 108 comfortably, whether it has Poron (my Clark St) or no Poron (my Delray). On 201, however, I find 9.5D to be too big for me. Too much instep room for one. I noted that on the AE All About Lasts page it informs that the 42 is generous from the ball forward, and that the 42N, N for Nomad, is similar but with 3mm more room for the LightForm footbed and is considered a "relaxed fit." It sounds like they intend for 42N to be roomier than 42, which is already said to be roomy at the forefoot.

So, whether this is 42 or 42N, can someone describe the fit difference to the 108? Sorry, no 65 or 511 experience (gasp!). Is LightForm the Poron I know from my Clark Street? Thanks!

Remember when I said that I’d prefer the shaft on my new Sullivan Streets to be even darker?

This is pretty close to what I wanted. With a heat index of 105, I won’t be wearing these today.

Down in the comments of this Neo gives his thoughts of the 42. I'd recommend starting with your 201 size as it's reasonably close to that in fit.
I've heard the 42N described as an even narrower/lower volume 65 (201 is basically the 65 with a higher cone).

The lightform footbed will feel similar to the standard poron. The Shane is a bench welt shoe, so it would be standard poron (I was surprised to hear they have it as I'd not seen anything about it). That said, depending on foot shape some people go a length longer in the 108 than 201. Since the 201 is too large, I'm betting you'll want a 9D in the 42.

Maybe although I don’t think those buyers really intersect. Seems like a perfect opportunity to open a web gem where you can mix match leathers/patterns based on some set options.
I agree.
If you could choose from maybe 2-3 standard colors of calf for the lower portion, and have multiple options for the upper (thick suede, pebble grain, bison, shark....), we would see some awesome combinations.

We drove up to Bentonville, Arkansas to help out in our daughter’s bakery. Because I knew I would be relegated to KP, I thought natty Maritimes would be suitable (from Ashley’s secret $99 stash a couple years ago, remember?).
