One really annoying thing about Amazon (I don't know if any of you have noticed this) has to do with their drop down inventory thing. You'll see your size available in bold, thinking you've found a pair of something discontinued. But as soon as you click the size, it states it's unavailable. Amazon is the biggest tease when it comes to AE shoes.

They're probably seconds quality firsts anyway... amazon is full of seconds quality stuff being sold as firsts. I got a pair of jeans that had been hot washed and machine dried one time. Now that The Grand Tour is basically done, I'll probably cancel my prime membership and avoid them as much as possible. I'll leave my amazon generation rant for another time. ;p
Burgundy shell Strands today for Strand Wednesday.

I've only bought 1 pair of AE from amazon, and it was my 3rd pair back in 2015. It was a pair of Wilbert's in my usual size. I wore them for a few days (outside) and my feet were in a lot of pain above the ball / lower vamp area. I went to an AE store to see if my size was correct, but they didn't have another pair in 8 D in stock. AE wouldn't take them back, but they recommended asking Amazon to take them back. I was still very new to AE at the time. I contacted amazon and they accepted the return, minus a $10 restocking fee. I felt so guilty about it for a long time because they were worn, and they probably can't resell them again. I haven't done that kind of thing since. I would later find out that this one pair of Wilbert's was incorrectly built, and they should not have fit so tight. This is why when someone is new to AE, it can be really confusing when you buy a shoe that is wrongly constructed. AE should have taken them back because ultimately it was their error, but I shouldn't have worn them out (so that was my own ignorance).

Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue or Bond Street? First pair of AEs and looking at one of the pairs on Shoebank for $199. I’m a 10EEE, do they fit differently?
I'm a 10.5 3E and will say the Fifth Avenue and McAllister (also made on the 65 last) run pretty true to size. Good luck.
So I looked up 2-14, agree with you highly suspect. Oh, going out for steak tonight also.
Though I don't fault PETA for everything they do, I did happen to have BEEF on my plate tonight, too. And it was good.

My third pair of AE, oxblood PAs, were also my only amazon pair in early 2016.

Bartlett kind of day. Have a good one fellas!

I want to get a Bartlett but with Tupelo in Dark Brown and Strand in Walnut, I only would take the Bartlett in a color that is not currently made. Any shade of Burgundy would do nicely.

After shining my new F2 Strand pair in cigar, I realized my Strand strategy. Initially, I didn’t want to buy any strand—especially not in walnut, since everybody has one. I now own 3 Strand versions, but they are consistent with my strategy: I will not buy any “standard” Strand. That is, I won’t purchase one in calf in a regular color and style. This allows me to purchase those colors and in another model shoe to avoid overlap. The Strand comes in enough special makeups that I can still have plenty. I own it in walnut weave, taupe suede, and cigar.

Worth it or save the clams to fill an actual hole in my collection, like Oxblood?
I had been considering this shoe for a while, and put a pair in my shopping cart a while back as a reminder to think about it.

I saw the heavily discounted price today and didn’t wait long to place my order.

I’m surprised that they dropped the price that low. Will this become #boulevardgate?
