New to AE and need some advice on my Park Avenues

    Two questions on the PAs:

    1. Is the creasing on my oxblood PA normal? Hope I’m just being OCD about the creases, but don’t see the same creases on my Fifths or Strands which also fit me noticeably better. My PA don’t have heel slip but they don’t fit like a glove either (I’ve only worn this pair 2 or 3 times).

    2. Is this bowing on the pair of new Black PA Seconds acceptable? Haven’t worn them yet, but the bowing stood out compared to the other pairs of AE I have.

The creasing on your oxblood PAs looks like the creasing on my oxblood 5As....

The creasing is not an issue. Different shoes, even in the same style may have significantly different crease patterns. Leather won't be from the exact same animal, after all.

As to the bowing, if it doesn't cause discomfort when you are wearing them, it is not a problem. I suggest wearing on carpet for a bit and seeing if it bothers you.

I agree with this. If the bowing remains after lacing and causes discomfort, I’d return. If not, it’s not a big deal.

He seems to have several of these "worn once" offerings lately. I also recently picked up a pair of flawless fifth aves from him that do appear to have been worn maybe once (perhaps only just tried on, but they are just slightly creased). Nice score there. Those look terrific.

I’m wondering what the time is between return to AE and listing on ebay

I would say these are both normal superficial occurrences. As others have pointed out, the way it feels and ‘behaves’ while you wear it is what matters.

While on the subject of floppy-tongued Strandmoks, never had any problems with the tongues in the tan suede Strandmok 0.0's but had all sorts of problems with the tongues in the grey suede Strandmok 2.0's.

    P1110622.JPG

Replaced the tan laces that came with them with light grey laces from Shoelace Express.

The tan suede Strandmok 0.0's are very comfortable. Withdrew a pair of grey suede Strandmok 2.0's from the Shoebank thinking they would fit the same as the tan suede Strandmok 0.0's (also withdrawn from the Shoebank) but found out they didn't.

Don't wear the grey suede Strandmok 2.0's very much since they are not very comfortable when walking.

When I sold around half my shoes on eBay before leaving Arizona, the grey suede Strandmok 2.0's were one of the very few pairs of shoes I didn't get any bids on.

Happy Saturday gents! Went made in USA, but Minnesota instead of Wisconsin. Red Wing Beckmans for running a couple errands this morning. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

So my Jingle Bell Mok question earlier was due to this eBay listing:

    https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/323636860562

I had never seen the JBM as just a black offering. The seller says he bought them new like this in 2012. Looks like a black Neumok 1.0 to me.

Has anyone seen this version before?

Typing this as I wait to get my hair cut. Blue Neumok’s for the adventure. Socks courtesy of @madhat - thanks! It may be an air circulation unit, but two people have asked me if it was a tardis from Dr. Who!

Sorry for all that snow our northern brethren are experiencing - it is fun to play in, but not sure i’d ever want to live in it again!

Hello gents. I'm in the heart of the storm here in STL. I'm fine although there have been and still are some serious travel issues on the roads. Back on topic, going to the Caribbean later this month and I scored a pair of Maritime firsts($70) for the occasion. As a boat shoe newbie, I need to know do Maritime handle ocean water? Thanks all.

Wore mine to DR and Mexico last year. Had no problems with ocean water and pool water. Of course I didn't WEAR them in the ocean or pool, but they did get wet and seemed to have survived fine. They are in storage now, or I would snap a pix for you.
