Most of my hiking involves over-the-ankle Gore-Tex options. I do love these things.

Belleville 790s. Not lightweight. But they sure are comfy. Last far far longer than other brands/models I've tried. And they're made here in 'murica, cause Berry said so. ;)

Insta-buy at that price for new Shakers. If only they were 9.5 (my brannock) instead of 9, I could complete the Shaker trifecta.

I totally agree. That's why I rarely buy loafers...and yet I have an Alden pair on order...

Speaking of loafers, I've actually been on a slow burn for these. I know - flexing bologna, Italian made and all that, but I really like the cooler tone of the navy and sole. I've never really been into tassels, but something it just working in this specific color and make-up for me. If my black HM's don't work out, I might give it a whirl if they are discounted during the Anniversary sale.

Still a bit wet out, so switched over to Leeds on Dainite to do some lunch time grocery shopping.

    Mother of god. Gorgeous.

I use the Ultras in a couple shoes and I like them a lot. Woodlore regards them as their best so I can't disagree.

The McGregors have become a quick favorite of mine. They have a very pleasing aesthetic to them with the 65 last and longwing.

Speaking of McGregors, I present snuff suede. I really like the color of these as they are darker than all other snuff suedes I own. I would almost say they are in "brogue suede" territory, like a cognac. The 65 last is just icing on the cake. They fit beautifully.

I have 2 pairs, 1 black 1 brown -- both grain shortwing leather soled bluchers, but have seen Monks with same name. Not sure age but would guess mine are at least 15 years young.

You are killing it! The new MTO pair - especially since you love the 65 last - is to die for btw.
    (SOB RIP MTO) :)

IMO much more so in suede than in calf.

suede is a must for the McGregor; I'm so used to longwings being double sole reverse welt that it feels off. The suede makes everything good again!
