Another jackpot. It looks great with the chili edges and wheeling. Love the color and finishing of the shell, as well. You and Ace have encouraged me to do the same. I have also accumulated pairs that have never been worn or don’t get much wear.

Could they have shifted production at some point? The write up clearly says MiUSA. were there Sea Island 1 and 2?

On the Rush Street, I cannot achieve full closure of the camp in 7.5D

    In Leeds 8D, yes.

There's a pair of boots in 8E but I want to commit if it's worth it or if I should wait.

I must have missed the word "brown" I assumed they were burgundy. Hopefully they are in good shape!

The write up used to say Dominican Republic. They must’ve dragged their feet with updating the copy on the site.

Technically, burgundy is a brown tone. ;p
What model? It sounds like there may be too much volume. Can you make it up by lacing the shaft? Likely. (I fight full closure issues with a lower volume foot.) Will it be ideal? No. It just depends if you want to take the chance.

My newest haul from the clearance/shoe bank sale:
From left to right: Cove Drive in brown suede with a crepe sole...these are DR shoes but for $99 was a good buy in that they are suede. If you look closely the nap is not very good- any suggestions as to how to reduce the long strands coming off the shoe? I tried brushing but it seemed to make it worse.
Next are the Oak Streets in Natural CXL, then brown shell Dundees and then the Massdrop Chukkas in Snuff suede.
Still incoming are some snuff suede strands and maybe another mystery shell shoe! Also ordered the Cutler boot from Rancourt.

First round of SIs were MiUSA. One season only, higher end suede, recraftable. Second round were DR /AE line and not recraftable.

I think they made the initial seasonal run in the US. When they saw how well it sold year round they most likely switched to DR. Sea Islands are not eligible for recraft due to the claims of being water resistant. The shoe would loose its ability to keep water out on the recraft. So making them in the DR makes more sense. AE can only make about 350,000 shoes in the US per year. The DR facility makes the rest of them. Cement and hand sewn shoes mostly. If AE sees significant growth more shoes will need to be either sourced out or more shifts in Wisconsin.

Sounds like I got lucky and got a recraftable pair from the MiUSA run!
