Size?I’d like some advice/opinions. My shell Macneils (2nds) came in today and I’m a little concerned with the fit. If the laces are closing this much already, will it likely be an issue with them being too loose down the road?
My other AEs are 11.5e on the 65 last and fit snug. I also have 12e Dalton’s that are roomier but I like boots to fit that way.
These eyelets also look pretty crooked which I’m guessing is what made these go to the outlet.
Size?
Personally, I would try 12D or 11.5E. I split the D/E width and find D fits better in shell than E which I typically wear in calf. You could also possibly try an insole insert.12e, can’t believe I forgot that haha.

The Rudolph’s work well at the play range.

BTW, the slanted laces (misaligned eyelets) look worse when the eye-stays are that close.
No, but they do intimidate other players.Do they light your way when the fog rolls in?
YoIf the person from California that ebay’ed their natty shell strands that I now have is on this list, just want to say thanks.

Lasted looser to prevent tearing? Where did that info originate?Shell won't stretch like calf; it was lasted looser to begin with to help prevent tearing. Unless you plan to compress the footbed significantly you'll be gravy
It wasn't good wording, but I've seen it discussed that shell can't be stretched as tightly as calf or it can tear. This being a reason shell shoes generally fit looser out of the box. The likelyhood of it tearing during lasting is a reason AE didn't want to do unlined shell towards the end of MTO. Is my memory/understanding faulty? I don't want to spread my mistake if so.Lasted looser to prevent tearing? Where did that info originate?
