What are those? They look comfortable for summer wear.

I don’t know those shoes, but I think that stitching may actually secure that insole to the (black) midsole. The pattern of the stitch doesn’t look just decorative to me.

    Cool looking regardless.

It’s basic shape (I think the 108 makes for a terrifically sleek and good looking shoe) and general lack of fussiness saves it for me. It’s a nice shoe, especially in Walnut. If I was looking for another plain-toe(‘ish) shoe, it’d be on my list.

Also, everyone repeat after me: “Tassle loafers are awesome, there will be no more making fun of tassel loafers. Tassle loafer is best loafer.”

I’m starting to get roped in by the tassel. Didn’t even know I was interested, but @jet-stream ’s photos always have a way of doing that for me.

They were made in Mexico by a hard working family. It actually felt criminal to pay $20 for them.

Yes, the stitching is real. They actually punched holes in the insole and pulled the weaved upper through the holes. They then glued on the black rubber midsole and crepe outsole. Then they just stitched the three components together. A smart way around a no welt shoe with a welt appearance.

Agreed on tassel loafers but does the Woodstock count?

    Close enough.
I wouldn't call them string loafers, so maybe rope loafers?

I mean, my first thought was string loafers, even if the strings are woven

I own seersucker trousers as well as some pincord shorts and pants. I prefer pincord for looks usually, but seersucker for comfort.
