So which color Strandmok?
Black with blue Dainite sole. Always liked it even though I have a no black rule. For that shoe I can break the rule.

How does the Stirling compare in height to the Dalton? Does it come up the calf as much as the Dalton, or does it ride more around ankle height?
Stirling is just over the Ankle. Dalton might be about an inch and a half taller. I like the height on the Stirling. If I go dressier then Fifth Street is in the cards for me.

Not remotely on topic. It was, in fact, too cold for shorts:

Kristen at Paramus took care of me real nice today, pair of Walnut Strands are en route! I’ve only been on this board a month and I’ve already added a Chili McAlister, Brown CXL HIggins Mill, Brown Shell Park Avenue, Black Normandy, Walnut Clifton (Ebay beaters), and now the Walnut Strand. This is an expensive community!
SF gets me another $41 off of Stirling. Price per pair is less but volume is more.

The drive for shell Strands just got pushed back even further. It was a painful day today. Needed a new couch for the living room. We set a budget that was pretty unrealistic to begin with. Stretched it to get a floor model of something nicer that was discounted. Once the taxes, delivery, and extended warranty got added in we were about $1000 over where I wanted to be when we started. Wife and daughter are ecstatic with the new piece, even though I'm crying on the inside. I'm going to cash in on this karma at some point, I know it.

On the plus side, the Longbranches were good for wandering all over the floor showroom. They're getting a lot of wear this winter. Other than being 1/2 size too big, they're pretty much my ideal beaters for this kind of weather. The CXL can really take whatever winter throws at it with just a quick wipe down if they get too much salt exposure.

A couch will sooner or later either wear out or fall out of style while a nice pair of shell will do neither.
