Perhaps. Obviously my observations are purely anadotal. Nonetheless, most lasts work for me (both AE and other manufacturers), which leads me to believe my foot shape is more common than the one that fits into the 65 last.

Yes, luckily I only suffer from wide, not wide and tall like you!
Of course, and I'm not trying to be contrary, just expanding the conversation.
As a flip side I love the 65 last, and I can make most lasts short of the 201 work for me. Since none of the lasts are bespoke, I think we all are making slight compromises on all of the lasts regardless of manufacturer.

Haha I'm not suggesting you are a GYW bottom feeder just that you might like that HM pair for a few more $

I would probably join too if I didn't already have burgundy shell Macs and have a major preference for the 97 over the 511.

Perfectly laced shoe or what? *Don't mind the left shoe, it was a second for a reason :)

I prefer an actual V, not the eyelet quarters touching or parallel.

Same exact thought, @St Hubbins. At some point, 2 bargain shoes (likely ones you didn't even consider or "have to have" when they came out) would equal something really nice - like the reverse kudu HM.

I have this shoe in regular calfskin, and I think that I would about die if I could obtain a pair in shell.

Natty Shell Cornwallis today. Like the Richard Thompson song, " I feel so good I'm gonna break someone's heart tonite!"
