Does anyone have a picture collection of all the Christmas specials? I remember the shelton looking pair, I've got the jingle bell monks, then of course there's the Rudolphs, and i saw a low boot like the fifth Ave but wing tips. Any others?

It might be a regional thing, but I'm 28, and I only ever receive positive comments from people in the 20-35 bracket. Many of my peers and coworkers (financial services, in a high-end area with lots of oil and gas companies) wear shortwings or perfed captoes, so the only reason I really stand out is the range of colors I have in each style. Probably my most commented on color is the bourbon McAs and Strands.

The shoes that REALLY get comments (always positive though) are the 1776's and Jingle Bell Moks.

Yup. My two biggest commented pairs are my jingle bells and my walnut Daltons. I avoided wingtip, medallions, and other embellishments for a long time because they looked more casual/garish. I've since found a liking, though I don't think I'll get into the full "longwing" look though!

Longwings took a while to grow on me, but many of the pics here (primarily of shell examples) have made me want to get some. My first longwing is going to be the brown grain MacNeil, preferably on Dainite- it just seem like that leather and sole fit with the "country" nature of the shoe.

Still a ways off though- my Veronas should be here Wednesday and my Graysons are shipping tomorrow, so that should hold me for a while.

Any suggestions on what to get next? (I did just order some cordovan Daltons)
Nice collection you have going there. But I noticed one thing... NO HIGGINS MILL!! WTF. But seriously, Higgins Mill. Also, a PTB or Chukka would be a nice addition.

Question... upper left is the Saukville? How do you like that. That's one of the models calling my name from the clearance page.

Those brown grain models aren't going to be around forever... just sayin'.

Boy those are among the best Merlot McAllisters I've seen. Of course, @Middlife
's are also quite nice. Every time I see one of those two pairs, I become reminded that my Strands should be McAllisters. Now, please excuse me, I must go... wash the donkey.

Unrelated... where are those pants from? I assume they are flannels. I would like to acquire a similar pair. Thanks!

Thanks! The only issue with them is that the burnishing on the right toe has a big splotch in the middle that is still need to figure out how to correct. You can see it if you zoom in a bit.

The pants are Lands End flannels in Tailored Fit- got them a couple years ago, I think I may get a couple more pairs when they come out again next year. I love 'me.

Any suggestions on what to get next? (I did just order some cordovan Daltons)

Agree with everyone else on the Higgins Mill/loafers suggestions. What shoe is in your avatar though?

I say "a ways off", but we all know that means the next couple months lol. Especially since the Grayson was the one shoe I've been looking for a solid deal on for the past couple years. Now that I have a pair en route, I don't have to think "man, I should be buying Grayson's instead of another pair of McAllisters/Strands/etc

I really like the First Ave.

What is the general sizing advice on them compared to the 5 or 1 lasts?

I got my First Avenues in the same size as my other 40 pairs of AE (several different lasts) and they fit great.

Nah man, I think the brown grain is on closeout. $277, but my size at least is already gone.

Thank you. I'm thankful to God for his many blessings and the health and ability he gives us to be able to purchase things we enjoy. The true blessing is knowing Jesus.

Honestly, I'd just love to see a pic of your shoe storage and a pic of your full collection (AE, Alden- everything) lol

Above is a link to some pics of the leather loafers I wear on a regular basis. Given that I've just gotten into shoe care, I just received the conditioner that was recommended in here. I hit them once when I got home. Should I go again? Polish back up now (been about a month)?

How about the new shoes? I'll be wearing them tomorrow. Should they be conditioned first?

Just received my 2nds sale Higgins Mill today. Super excited to open them up only to see...loose grain, and a lot of it.
What's your guys' opinion? Send them back?
