Pretty much phoning it in today with the Dark Chili MacNeils, slightly different cords and a slightly different blue OCBD.

    Update

You can order the JBM's at the sale price $165.00 from Irina Keis @ the NYC store 212-682-3144.

She said she would give the price to forum members who called her also she will honor the RDA prices for anything else. Limited time offer.

I just ordered my JBM's and what a great price.

    Thanks! That's outstanding!

As a purely selfish promo - anyone looking for a JBM in 11.5D, I've got a pair for sale that I'll take a bit of a hit on to get a better fit. (I'm going to order 11.5E).

Happy Throwback Thursday forum pals! The RDA has come and gone and I didn't order a thing. Still waiting on the trunk shoe that, like unicorns and hobbits, is starting to sound like fiction. But I was able to find and rehab a pair of semi-vintage Florsheim long wings from 1999 in dark brown that I had been looking for to replace a pair of MacNeils that I ruined with salad dressing.

Does anyone happen to recall the names of the sales assistants at the 44th street AE store in NYC? I had a conversation on Monday, 10/10 with a tall gentleman with glasses and a very nice Lady about doing a special order. They took down my number and email and said they would get back to me ASAP, but it's been two weeks now. TIA

I have a much older pair of Del Rays where the pattern looked different. The large vamp piece on top is smaller and the split toe pieces on the sides are larger and extend higher up. I don't like the newer look.

I am definitely ordering the First Ave in burgundy shell if the trunk show ever starts. This would be a great pick for navy blue shell cordovan if someone is willing to risk it. I'm actually a bigger fan of Alden's better arch support and support of the metal shank but the Plaza last just doesn't fit as well as the 201 AE last.

Same here! Quite proud of my restraint, actually, but as I normally buy seconds, I didn't see anything that screamed "buy me now before it's too late!"

I searched but couldn't find specifics....for those who have bought additional laces for their HM boots, where did you go?

Great she was nice I actually looked at the JBM's yesterday but they did not have my size. So when I stopped by to order them from the factory she said she checked the order that just came in and there was my size. So she set them aside for me knowing I was coming back to order.

I get them tomorrow, I had them shipped to my home since no NYC tax on shipped purchase.

BTW I was surprised they included 3 pair of laces and a Christmas CD.

Glad this worked out for you. One more reason I like this forum. Get little bits of info that nonforum members probably never know.

I picked up some inexpensive tan laces from Amazon to put in my brown HM: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CLJV7XG

I haven't actually gotten around to re-lacing them, since the boot season down here is still a month or so away, but they look and feel nice. They seem to be about 1 mm narrower than the stock laces, though that shouldn't change the aesthetic much if at all.

Additionally, Guarded Goods sells a great waxed boot lace (http://www.guardedgoods.com/collections/shoe-laces/products/flat-waxed-laces) that I picked up a while back to put in my First Avenues, and I can recommend those as well.

Sorry I saw your old message too late. Glad to hear your situation is resolved. :) Please post pics when they arrive. I'm curious as to what a grey Strand will look like.

It's probably best you bought them now (while steep at 335) because I doubt the grey will last more than a few days.

I have brown Cornwallis (never worn). Thinking of exchanging them for walnut or chili Cornwallis.

    Thoughts?

So true I would not have known to ask for the discount on the JBM's if were not for this forum.
