    That's impressive...

Something I've thought about and never seen brought up here...

Does anyone else think AE could do something for customer loyalty like this? I've acquired around 15 pair in about two years, and that is nothing compared to some.

I would love something like a buy 10, get your 11th free program. It's 10% off, and only for the select few that are willing to make a significant purchase block.

So, a bit of an update on my resizing journey that I started on Sunday. I had AE stretch my bourbon PAs and the results were fantastic. I think I'll have the same done for my bourbon strands and probably just one of my Bradleys as my own fit is the trouble maker on that shoe. If you are ever undecided on a shoe, I would err on the side of tight and have AE stretch them if they don't loosen up after they break in. Way better than trying to fill a bigger shoe up with a bulky insole.

I'm undecided on my Rutledges as I haven't worn them enough to know how they will break in and I would think the Indy leather is going to stretch more than the regular calf.

I'm rather excited to get the 12B Strands tomorrow from the Nordstrom exchange as I don't really know what it feels like to have a shoe in a narrow width that actually supports my mid foot. I've been swimming in my shoes for 31 years and it has really caused my feet to flatten out and arches collapse. This could be a real game changer.

Also does anyone think there is any way to get the wedding deal without actually getting married? The discount all in at $150 seems pretty good.

I was at my AE store yesterday and was told they are doing a "soles4souls" promotion of $50 for a trade in on March 10th. And the Anniversary sale in April appears to not be including Cornwallis. [IMG]

Better off to pay full shell price for calf. Still would be cheaper than getting married.

Question... the right shoe on my new McGregors has some wrinkles where it's creasing in the forefoot. I know creasing is normal with calf, but are the wrinkles near the creasing anything to be concerned about?

Don't recall seeing this on my other AE's.

And a close-up of the vamp. Not sure why they burnished these so heavily; I prefer minimally burnished walnut calf.

Wow! Looks like those went the way of a bourbon burnishing by accident. I suppose they could even out some, but definitely not firsts grade shoes.

Shoe looks a little long... do you feel like the toe box is flimsy at all?

    Thanks, @MattRiv !
I have had them for 1.5-2 years. They have over 20 wears, including a handful of airport trips and other less-than-ideal settings. In fact, this weekend I was out in the yard pruning trees and shrubs and my wife commented about me wearing my Addies. I will say this, I have treated them as if they can take a beating - with the intention of hitting them with suede cleaner and a brush when they get too beat up. In terms of fit, I took my 5-last size, though had to add a tongue pad. The only other 234 shoe I own is the Amok and those are smaller all around (slightly smaller heel, much tighter waist). Hope that helps.

I just left the AE store and the new Liedens are almost that color. The walnut is going a little darker these days. They will lighten up over time though.

Not at all... I've got stupidly long toes. I've tried other sizes on the 5 last before I settled on 11.5D for my Strands, Fifth Avenues, Kenilworths, and now McGregors. If anything, I could see going to an 11.5E for balmorals. For bluchers, the fit feels perfect all around.

Currently my most comfortable shoe, strand in oxblood. I also realized I need a girlfriend, quick. I'm getting really attracted to my shoes...

    I

I too would prefer lightly burnished walnut; Let me be the one to patina them please. However, I'm perfectly fine with the burnished and darker walnut, as long as it doesn't look like I'm the unskilled craftsmen that did the burnishing.
