There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    (Re: Darmstadt shoes...)

I wasn't even trying. [IMG] Still, it's true that vendors' and manufacturers' online photos of their clothing and shoes are often poor. Bad backgrounds or no background [white nothingness], harsh or too much lighting, etc.

Epaulet does a nice job with a lot of Alden shots - they take them outdoors/in the woods, etc.

Those look great! I was wanting the brown ones, but they sold out of nearly every size before I even got a chance!

I'm sure they will restock. The same happened with the blue. Now it is available again.

Those looked great! Is the cap a different color or leather than the vamp?

Well, that may be nuttier than a squirrel turd, but I'd be willing to give this a try. Maybe even borrow a toddler for correct timing. I really do think the squeak is coming from the lining.

Yes the cap appears to be a darker leather. It is totally a cool looking shoe. Love it! I was on the fence but getting it in my hands the leather is soft and supple. It's well done!

The squeak is more likely caused by the interaction of your socks with the linings of your shoes..... I have shoes that squeak like that when I wear cotton/synthetic blend socks. It seems the higher the level of synthetic in the fabric, the more the socks (when combined with some inevitable perspiration) grab the linings and squeak. When I wear the same shoes with merino wool blend socks that breathe and wick moisture away better, no squeak at all, all day long.

Does anyone know if there is a 12 step process for shoe addiction? LOL.

Yeah, that fits the pattern too - quiet in the morning and the squeak starts sometime around mid-afternoon. Oddly enough, it's loudest on one shoe, and the other does it a little or not at all, which makes me wonder about the fit contributing.

    Yes!
    Step 1: buy more shoes
Steps 2-12: buy even more shoes.
Wait, unless you meant a 12-step process to end your shoe addiction...

    @TexasTexter

What do you use on the Navy Cronmok? I have the same pair as well and want mine to be darker. I've only used Saphir Navy polish but it doesn't work as good as I'd hoped

I have the Allen Edmonds Leather conditioner. That is all I use on them. It's neutral.

Pardon the re-post, but it seems like its time to review the signs one may have developed a shoe problem.

Are you a Shoe-holic? I know more than one of us have admitted to hiding shoes at work to keep the wife in the dark or having new shoes delivered to some address other than our home. Others of us have braved the situation only to be confronted by accusations of being a shoe-holic. But perhaps some of us do have a problem in this area. To that end, I completed this handy "10 warning signs of having a shoe problem" to see where I personally stand against such accusations.

Lying About or Hiding Your New Shoes - Yep! Pretty common in my life.

Buying new shoes to Relax or Feel Better - Guilty. Hey, sometimes one just needs to reward one's self.

“Blacking Out” Regularly - Yes, this occurs. Have you ever purchased a pair of shoes only to later realize you already owned this style and returned it for a refund? Yeah, me too.

Being Unable to Stop Once You Start - Does over 20 pairs in one year count as being unable to stop?

Wearing shoes in Dangerous Situations - Suede on a rainy day. What was I thinking?

Neglecting Your Responsibilities - Well, yes, according to my wife.

Having Trouble in Your Relationships - See above. She is really not as flexible as she should be on this point. I blame her mother.

Being Able to Buy More Shoes Than You Used To - Hell yeah, just watch me go.

Experiencing Withdrawal from Your Shoes - I have avoided this by buying a larger suitcase.

Trying to Quit Buying Shoes but Being Unable to - I don't know. I haven't tried to quit.

Looks like everything is A OK in my world. How about you?

Jesus Texas, how many shoes have you bought in the last 2 weeks?!?! [IMG]

Not saying there's anything wrong with it, of course.
