Those Madison Parks in dark chili are calling my name. So are the Neumoks. Lets be honest everything calls to us especially on sale. I think it qualifies under having a problem.

Couldn't pass up the free advertising after my last post. So the question is...do you?

Oldest AE shoes for me are Fairfax, discontinued in 2006.

The 3 last looks so weird to me. Looks like the 333, but with more room on the inside of the shoe and a round toe.

As a ferret I'm not sure if I'm offended by your insinuations about weasels. But i agree wholeheartedly :D

Regarding the two questions of the day:

    * For rain, if I simply must wear a suit, I have a pair of mid-80's McAlisters in corrected grain. I had thought I had nabbed a pair of shell for $35 years ago before I was as familiar with shell as I am now. Rather than hassle with the return, I just kept them for bad weather. They actually don't look too bad at a distance. (that's how I once described a friend's prom date)

    * For oldest AE I own, same answer. For non- AE, I have some Lloyd & Haig white bucks from the 90's, a Hanover burg shell PTB from mid 80's or older (they went under - at least US production - by then), and some Florshiem Imperials LWB in burg shell that Nick at B. Nelson dates from the mid-70's. Those things are tanks and had the original soles.

Well, ferrets and weasels are part of the same family...

@smfdoc and I have pairs of these as well. I took mine to a cobbler to see if he can fix the squeaking and he was so amped up over the shoes and couldn't believe that I only paid $70 for them on ebay. Mine have original soles and heels, but I'll likely get the heels replaced here soon. They definitely are the definition of "gunboats".
