Same here. McT is leather sole? I generally dislike leather in the rain. Besides the sole soaking up moisture and taking a while to dry out, they are incredibly slippery on hard surfaces. You come in from outside and hit a wet tile or marble floor, leather is not good. Clark sole is better protected from the water. The chomexel one would seem to be well suited for rain. Not sure on how it grips - have read that Dainite is not great on wet surfaces.

The "which shoes with this suit" question got me to thinking about turning that question around the other way.
I'm going to wear my bourbon Strands tonight.

Should I wear these with a navy suit, or a medium grey suit?

They would work with both. Here is a handy color chart for matching three shoes to five different suit or slack colors.

I grab Rush Streets in the rain.

Rush streets are nice, but I shy away from 65 last bals. McTavish would be an exception because they are known for fitting roomier.

Anyone have a recommendation for a belt to coordinate with Merlot shoes? Looks like there are about two AE options, neither of which grabs me. Doesn't necessarily have to match ..

EDIT: corrected typo. Also should clarify: I'm wondering if anyone has found a belt that works, other than the couple of AE options that come in Merlot.
