I grab Rush Streets in the rain.
Same here. McT is leather sole? I generally dislike leather in the rain. Besides the sole soaking up moisture and taking a while to dry out, they are incredibly slippery on hard surfaces. You come in from outside and hit a wet tile or marble floor, leather is not good. Clark sole is better protected from the water. The chomexel one would seem to be well suited for rain. Not sure on how it grips - have read that Dainite is not great on wet surfaces.
They would work with both. Here is a handy color chart for matching three shoes to five different suit or slack colors.
Something a little different on here. I picked up a pair of somewhat beater gridirons on ebay. Got some new flat waxed laces on amazon to complete the football look.
Swinging by an AE store tonight. anyone have requests on pictures or any advice?
Rush streets are nice, but I shy away from 65 last bals. McTavish would be an exception because they are known for fitting roomier.
My advice would be to take your credit card.
(and maybe not the wife.)
Haha, I meant to look anything over and give someone advice on a shoe, but duly noted. Wife will be with me.
He's doomed to only one pair... from past experience.
I managed to sneak a trip to the AE outlet in Charleston today - I was almost relieved that it was such a small store. The one near me in Mebane is much bigger.
This isn't going to end well.
In last month since I found this forum I've purchased Bourbon Strands (firsts), Black Strands (seconds), and just a few minutes ago Oxblood McGregors (seconds).
It doesn't sound like you need any help. You are doing just fine. "One of us...one of us....one of us..."
Filthy barn weasels!
Anyone have a recommendation for a belt to coordinate with Merlot shoes? Looks like there are about two AE options, neither of which grabs me. Doesn't necessarily have to match ..
EDIT: corrected typo. Also should clarify: I'm wondering if anyone has found a belt that works, other than the couple of AE options that come in Merlot.
