Shoebank.com doesn't work on my laptop.
works fine on my iPhone.
Good to know! Wasn't sure if I could buy a gift card and then use a gift card at shoebank. (Can I use a gift card when ordering over the phone?)
Consider me an idiot. I didn't even know those offers existed. So I just spend $250 and my statement will reflect $200?
It will show $250 and a $50 credit within a few weeks.
Your statement will show a +$50 credit from AE. At least thats how it came up for me.
You can buy a gift card from a regular store and use the gift card to purchase from outlet.
It gave me credit for my outlet purchase over the phone. It still rings up in the statement as being from AE with no differentiation (at least not from what I see on statement activity). Got shoes and a belt that totaled ~$259 and it credited me $50.
Wearing my A-E for Brooks Brothers black Strands, which have Poiron insoles and BB#1 Stripe combination tap soles. I replaced the leather and rubber combination heels with all rubber heels.
Took today off, so running errands and dodging puddles in navy Kirkwoods.
These have been relegated to my house shoes, so they see lots of wear, time in the yard, random spills. Finally decided they need some care. Wiped them down and hit em with some Bick4. I wasn't sure how this would work with the CXL, but no major changes. Perhaps a little darker sheen now.
I occasionally found this brand that sells AE shoes called Reiss, most their stuff are very fashiony though.
Couldn't resist oxblood Dundees (BB model) at $149 from the Shoebank. This will be my first oxblood shoe (although my "brown" Sauk Drives seem pretty close to oxblood), and my first AE for BB shoe. I'll post some pics when they come in.
Well, I had a long conversation with a very pleasant, but very unacommodating recrafting CSR. After being offered a choice of nothing or sending them back to AE to have them sand off the black edge dressing (forgetting I paid for a brown welt as well), I chose nothing. I even had to ask to get my $10 back.
I think AE has enough of my money for a while, and I think B. Nelson will get my recrafting dollars going forward.
That's disturbing. If it were me, I'd ask for an escalation to a manager or someone that can provide you satisfaction.
I'd ask to speak to a supervisor. The net is they failed to deliver what you paid for. You could also send an email to CEO Paul Grangaard - my understanding is you can actually get him. I'd be factual about the process - I'd be surprised if you don't get some kind of satisfaction.
I've heard great things about B. Nelson, so I'd have no reserve at all sending my shoes there, but in this case it is more the principal...
Or better yet, call the Walnut Creek store tomorrow while Paul G. is there and ask to speak with the man himself! =P
I sent a pair of Aldens to B. Nelson last Summer for a resole/recork since Alden was on Summer Break. No complaints here!
