I need some help with sizing for the new Macneils. I wear a 10.5D in the Strands, Mcallisters, and Cronmoks (65 last) and they all fit perfectly.

I heard the Macneil ran wide so I ordered a 10.5C. Way too tight. Ordered the 10. Ordered the 10.5D and they're still too tight - and possibly too short as well. They look amazing, though. Any suggestions on finding the right fit? 11E? Or is my foot just not meant for the Macneils?

I'm not sure when the next 2nds sale will be, but you could try them and return them if they don't fit.

The rumors say that the LaSalle seconds will be $180 during the Memorial Day sale.

Thanks! For the most part, as long as they are structurally sound and the longevity will not be compromised, I am cool. You can't expect flawless/near flawless shoes for seconds price.

I'll probably get attacked for this, but I'm not a big fan of the cap toe design. Not saying it's ugly -- just not my cup of tea. I don't know why, but it just looks odd to me. I have "old man" taste as my wife jokes, as I like the split toe / moc toe design as well as the plain toes like the Leeds and Carlyle. I wish they had not discontinued the Clark Street shoes because I would likely own one by now (maybe it's good they did in that case).

I love both of my Clark Streets. One is a 13B and one is a 12D. They fit very similarly.
It looks like your normal size is an 8D. Maybe you could try a 7.5E - which is still available at the Shoebank in both brown and natural.

FWIW, I take 10E in both Macneil and Strands (65 last) and both fit well.
10E macneil fits well enough, though heel is on wider side and can be rectified by tying laces tightly. I'd also say that Macneil is wider though the taper is much more aggressive than strands.
I also tried a 10.5D in Macneil, but it slipped right out of my foot and that experiment lasted only 3- 5 seconds.

Thanks! That might actually work for me. I see they have 8.5 D, but that's probably going to be too long. Hmmm.... I will consider the 7.5 E.

Got mine from the Bank early last week. Worn them several times since. No seconds stamp anywhere and, more to the point, nothing to suggest they should be seconds. Great casual spring/summer shoe.

This is from Sunday brunch but a long Tuesday has me anxious for a nice afternoon off. Love the strandmoks I picked up. Perfect jeans shoe. [IMG] will do the "nice shoes, cheap stained concrete" to replace the cheap carpet of the daily grind.

Interesting to see some color variation in the laces. Some pics show orange while others show yellow. A perfect-looking casual shoe on a last I know that works great for me.

Going to have to use some will power not to order them. Only $137 for them.... I'm already hiding my Lasalle from my wife. I don't want to end up divorced. Maybe the 7.5 E will last for 3 months on shoebank?

@Lobster33 Based on the styles & lasts you have talked about, id recommend checking out the Madison Park & Normandy - I bet both would work. Two really good choices.

I wear my Clark Streets more than any other shoe. If I think it might rain, they're the first shoe I reach for. Good luck waiting it out, I wouldn't count on them lasting long at that price. Maybe you'll get lucky though.

This sort of question comes up all the time and I tend to think that the answers are often anecdotal. Even two different pairs of the exact same shoe may fit differently, as I recently have experienced. I grabbed 2 pairs of McGregors in 10.5D, black & brown, and the brown pair fits wider.

On the same last, balmoral vs blucher does tend to make a difference, but even then, variations in individual pairs can remain significant.

Inspired by @slcrich to get an outdoor lighting shot of the maiden voyage of my Vernons. I had intended to break these out for my brother's wedding, however the weather did not cooperate.

Are those oxblood or is that the tan saddle? Well-played, sir.
