Very nice. I wish they still offered the Leeds in chili or some kind of brown. My 1.0 has served me well.
100% agreed. I've really grown to love the look of the Leeds over the past year or so. If the old made-to-order program were still around, I think there'd be a Natural or Golden Brown Chromexcel Leeds in my closet.

Hmmmm. Chromexel Leeds. That would be tempting.

Sanfords. I got these at the start of my AE journey before I knew about corrected grain. On a positive note: no cracking, wears great, and I don't care if it rains.

Filthy, filthy barn weasels. I came here initially to lurk for sizing information. I swear that's the only reason. I didn't really need another pair but after selling off a pair that really didn't fit (see, sizing thought I was 12 D turns out I'm 11 EEE in 65 bals) I figured what better way to use the windfall than a new pair. 11 EE Chili McGregors from the bank showed up today. Took two calls to two SAs who were both fantastic, but the real credit goes to Kristle from Jeffersonville. Not only did she verify the shoes were in great shape (which was a relief after Michael at Brookfield told me he couldn't in good conscience sell me the 11 EEEs) but she threw in two sets of tongue pads and a shoe horn for free. She was right, they're in great shape.

I bought some brown MGs a few months back and had a pretty rough go at it, but when I finally got a pair that was actually dark brown, they were impeccable. The only thing I have found that could possibly be considered wrong is a very slight eyelet misalignment on one shoe, so slight that I wouldn't dream of returning them even as firsts. Thanks to Phil in Brookfield for scouting them and dealing with several shipments back and forth.

Walnut Daltons in Brooklyn at the Record Fair. Flash washed out the color a bit.

This is crazy. I've only worn these 3 times and look what happened to one of the pull tabs on my Dalton boots. Do u guys think AE would give me a new pair because of this? Or even if I don't have the receipt still? I live in the Chicago area so I have 3 Allen Edmonds stores I can go too...

My brand new AE came in today and one shoe has this odd crease. Does this look like a defect or will a crease like this form naturally anyway?

Damn. There was really that much difference between the suede and saddle leather fitment? I hope they end up working out.

This pair in stone suede is really comfortable, but I'm somewhat surprised at the color variation I'm getting in different lights. They range from a lighter grey-ish tone to a very tan hue depending upon light, shade, etc., to the point where they can look like two different colors in pics:

Granted the first shot was with a DSLR and the second two are straight off an iPhone, so the color balance and processing is going to be very different, but it's actually a decent representation of what I saw today out and about. Aside from an off-white pair of Doc Martens bucks, these are my first foray into suede shoes and I had no idea that the color could change like this.
Oh wow, those look really good - with and without the noted color differences. Yeah you wouldn't believe the difference. I always tell people to watch out between calf leather & suede since it can matter a lot, and this is definitely the extreme example of it. I think the stone suede was definitely the best of the 3 options. We'll see how the tan saddle I have works out.

For those with unlined models, how much do they typically stretch out after getting broken in?

I'm usually an 8.5D, and with the Neumoks I just got, I think the 8.5 might be every so slightly too long, but still comfortable. Afraid if they stretch out a lot they will feel way too big

Depends what the 65 balmorals feel like to you with the lining. In all the 65 balmorals I own or have tried, I go with a 7D. The Neumok started off feeling a little roomier than the others since it was unlined. Similar instep pressure due like all 65 bals. I've worn them a ton - fully broken in, the pressure is WAY down and I can close the laces almost all the way. The toe box is still a little roomier than some but not a lot. Due to being unlined, where the shoe bends I guess sometimes it sort of pinches a little but it's not too noticeable. Some people change sizes for a Neumok - I'd advise against that iunless you were swimming in the 65 balmorals to begin with. The Neumok's great, easily one of my favorites. Waiting for it to warm up a little before breaking mine out again. For now I'm sticking to my McTavish & Overlord.

They will probably repair or replace that for you, but I wouldn't treat the pull tab on the Daltons as functional. They aren't thick enough or stitched as securely as heavy duty boots.

Those are not 2nds, right? Your shoe looks similar to the creasing that happens on all of my left shoes around the ankle on the inside, but that crease is on the outside. Looks like a defect. I don't think that's going to disappear. You might return them if they are firsts. I personally don't think it looks terrible, but none of my firsts looked like that.
