Just ordered a pair of AE Cornwallis shoes in brown burnished calf (firsts, not seconds) for $255. I think that was a pretty good purchase. I also just recently purchased a pair of 5th Avenues in chili as part of the AE Anniversary Sale. Think that's enough shoes for now. Time for a break lol.

I think tomorrow I am going to pull the trigger and get the Lasalle in chili (I've wanted this one for the last 6 months). Seconds are being sold for $179, which is probably about as good as it will get. I could wait for the Nordstrom sale, but I don't think they sell the new Lasalle at $199 anymore.

Agree. I wear Dark Chili almost exclusively with my greys.

Question-do regular shell make ups come with Independence lining? Also, is MTO really dead? I see them telling people to call customer service and inquire. If they are doing them, what is the custom fee?

No to both questions. The fee depends on what you change; $40 for a sole change, >$100 for leather change (in a color they don't usually make the shoe). But they won't allow other changes (welt, edge dressing, eyelets). So it's sort of zombified (i.e., undead).

Thanks. So that would mean $750 for a burgundy shell Strand, even though they have caps to fit the 65 from the PA, and any corresponding pieces from a Cambridge.

Which ones to keep..... I feel like I have a a lot of 65 last balmoral but the fifth chili looks sexy.

Can the monk Warwick be worn with suits?

Which one would you choose to keep.....

Assuming you tried it and know it will work for you, you owe it to yourself to check out one of the greatest shoes currently out there, the Madison Park, same length, either same width or +1.

I feel like I'm accurate by saying the oxblood Warwick can be worn nude and you'll still be the best dressed in the room.

Hmm in that case the second best dressed, behind the naked dude rocking oxblood. I hate to be this guy (who am I kidding, everyone in here will say this, that's why we're on this forum) but keep both. They'll both fill different roles. Also wearing the monk with a suit, you'll look better than 98% of suit wearers (give or take 3%).

Come on, you know the answer around here is both!

But if I had to pick, it'd be the fifth chili.

I own both and use the Warwick as a rainy day shoe. My Chili Fifths are leather soled, the Warwicks are with the stock BB "Topy." I feel like chili was made for Fifths (and I'm coming around on the Carlyle).

Also, judging by the picture, you seem to be in a similar shine situation - I can't seem to keep the Warwicks looking like big boy shoes. Mirror shines get cloudy too quickly on the toes and the leather seems to take polish very unevenly. Broke in with deep and wide creasing, too. I pretty much just condition them and go casual now. Got tired of fighting it. Easily my biggest disappointment with AE so far. </rant>
