    1) I don't think those look bad at all. You should've seen the striping on my bourbon McAllisters.
    2) Yes, you can strip it and start over if you are comfortable doing so.

They both have some, but the right certainly is the darker of the two.

^ I'd leave those be. Is that the only issue with the pair?

Minor stitching issue on the left toe. I don't care about that.
Ahhh my iPhone camera is not doing these justice. In person they're a lot closer to a Burnt Orange than any shade of Walnut.....

Just exchanged the Fifth Avenues I received today for some new ones but now I have to wait 2-3 weeks till I get them. The creasing was actually more noticeable than the picture I posted. I really hope this is worth the wait...

Just received walnut Strands purchased off eBay lightly used. Been eyeing them for a while and finally had the means to pull the trigger on them. There is slightly more creasing than it appeared in the listing but pretty excited about finally owning these nonetheless.

@gwshearing Those have good character. Leave them alone, you'll only make things worse.

I don't mean to sound negative, but man some of you guys are picky! Those look wonderful. You will thoroughly enjoy them and I look forward to some action shots on Walnut Wednesday this week!

I know. I know. Just had to get the little negativity out first so I could thoroughly enjoy them. This is easily the nicest pair of shoes I have purchased to date. The addiction is only going to grow from here, I'm afraid.

I agree with you there. I started saying I'll just get nice but used ones on eBay.... then the shoebank, now the anniversary sale. I'm hoping I can at least stay away until the RDA sale. I'd like to get some strands or bartletts.

I started with that exact shoe. Still my favorite!

It's a weird thing. I never thought I'd get into shoes. But after buying a pair of Park Avenues, I really felt more confident. Knowing you have a pair of great looking shoes on can help set a tone. It went from one to four pairs very quickly.

I find myself purposely avoiding going to the AE website because I don't want to keep buying shoes. Instead I just come here and look at the porn. (Aka shoe pics)

It all started by buying a few pairs for less than about $60 each off of eBay the past few years due to budget reasons, but I think I'm quickly following the same path. Also bought a pair of Larchmonts from the Shoebank because I couldn't resist the $157 price point. They should be coming in at the end of the week.

I think the my next goal will be saving up for a pair of cordovan shell AEs (not sure which model yet) if they go on sale or if I can get lucky and find a nice pair on eBay.

I can see why. It's ten times nicer in person. It's definitely going to be hard to beat, that's for sure!

Just love my Bartletts. Easily the most comfortable shoes out of the box. Wish I had the need for the Hopkinson too, but alas, had already purchased my Burgundy PAs (shells) which happen to be on my feet given the day! Merlot Monday!
