@shades9323 Don't have a Cody but tried it. Length I thought was on par with 65 (meaning half size longer than tts). 114 length is much shorter, more like tts. Widths were similar, id say 114 maybe narrower by a little. Heel and toe box noticeably roomier on the Cody. Both bad for high arch, with the tough bar/band at the vamp of the Cody it was particularly bad.

It's very tempting, I'm not gonna lie.
(I'm probably over my purchase quota for the last six months.)
    Where's the picture?

How did you size in these? I wear 9.5D in the Strand, but I would like to wear these with thin socks and prefer my shoes a little snug.

I am a 9c in the 114. Think an 8.5b might work due to the roomier heel/toe boxes?

    Latest show-outs:

From last Tuesday I went with the Black Shakers with the Harris Tweed panel and a matching Harris Tweed sport coat. It didn't look too “matchy-datchy” and I got gobs of compliments on the whole combo. (Picture was taken AT a local Midtown Dunkin' Donuts while on a run for myself and a couple of co-workers.

Then I dusted off the ridiculously comfy Black Fairfax wholecuts with a lovely Vintage Ralph Lauren suit that everyone assumed was a new Tom Ford. The more things change... (I don't drink instant usually, but somebody had a jar of Bustelo here @ work and I HAD to have some! Mmmmmmmmm!

Then, I found THESE @ Burlington Coat Factory—the AE (Dominican Made, so not eligible for recrafting) “Fastball” Boat Shoe. Normally they come in the basic white with the red stitching, but you could also get them customized with team logos. Evidently, pairs were made and I guess sent back and could not be resold directly by AE, so they found their way down the secondary distribution channels like BCF.

They only had size 12—my size—with a St. Louis Cardinals, a Detroit Tigers, aaaaannnnnnnnd a New York Yankees logo—the last being MY team, so I HAD to get 'em!

$39.00 and they were mine! Will wear once the weather warms up a tad (Too cold for boat shoes on Opening Day today—36º at game time. Brrrrrrrrrr!)

I have a few pairs of AEs on the 65 last in 9D. The sizing seems a bit inconsistent (seconds?) but for the most part they are all too tight across the forefoot and a hair too long (heel slip, and my toe kicks the floor a lot). Would and 8.5E be wide enough or is 8.5EEE my only option.

Ive got a Brooks Brothers Strand in 8.5EEE. With the poron insole the volume feels good, but the heel and forefoot are wide.

Nice! $39 for AE anything is a steal. The SoCal BCF situation is a far cry from what you NYC folks enjoy but stories like this keep me checking in whenever I drive by one.

I wear 8.5 E and 9 D almost interchangeably. The last and style (blucher vs oxford, suede vs calf) make as much difference (to me) as the size. Foot shape is also an issue. There are just some styles that won't fit me in any size. Point being, you may not have a 'go to' size. Keep notes as you try things on and you may be able to start predicting what will work based on comparisons to other models. @Neo1 is probably the master of this approach.

My Oxblood Dalton finally arrived today from an outlet AE store in North Carolina. Naturally, I quickly took them out of the box, and took a close careful look to see what's wrong with them for a reason to be marked as the factory second.

The stitches are perfect as far as I'm concerned. The soles are perfect. There's no eyelet misaligned as well. The leather everywhere are perfect except for this tiny error on the right boot's middle back end by the brogue area. When I stretch inside with my hand as if my foot is inside.. It looks great. I suppose it will be all right as long as I keep the shoe tree in it, and etc. I attach the picture. I think it should be okay. However, I'd like to seek some advice if I should keep them or return them. This is my first leather shoes to own, so I'm no expert in this one. I'm not sure if there will be a problem arise in the future from that spot. Many thanks in advance.

Can you elaborate on the nature of the 'problem'? It's not entirely clear from your pic. Does it fit okay? If so, I'd say keep it. I can't see anything wrong in the pic and the resolution is equal to or better what anyone is going to see from eye level.

From the one pic you posted, you got a steal! I wore my Oxblood Second Daltons today, and I still haven't found the flaw, if there is one.

I made an arrow to point to that area where I think is the reason why it's passed as the factory second unless I'm wrong. There's a few minor creases in that area. I don't know how to explain it. On the left boot there's no creases in the same area.
