1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

First post so I hope I get this right[IMG]

    AE for BB Strands

Not visible, cheap office carpet. Please forgive the pebble watch. Sometimes function trumps form.

    An update a week later....

Shoes fit awesome and no longer slip off my heel on either foot. So glad i stuck it out and kept them because had i tried to squeeze my foot into a 9.5D, then i would have essentially wasted my money. I can tell already this shoe is going to be a personal favorite for years to come as the color has really grown on me over the last week.

This might make your day: Xerxes Ave, on Amazon. But, depends on size.

Having the forum up in the background is a shameless attempt at trolling for thumbs up on your post. And it damn sure worked for me.

IMO, your good; and I think your right, after a good break-in they should close up a touch more.

Picked up a pair of Walnut Daltons from the Bergen Center outlet. Will post pics on Wednesday (if it drys up around here). Also came close to breaking the shell barrier with a pair of Dundees, but alas a bit too loose. Got another pair (that I'm not hopeful about) on order just because they're going to honor the 15% off from the opening sale.

So they put the Shreveport on sale, but not the Leiden weave. My guess is the Shreveport will be on clearance for cheaper than sale price after the sale, to be replaced by the Leiden Weave. Other than a possible belt, and maaaayybe a Sea Island, I think I'm sitting this one out.

Thanks. My strands are less than a half an inch at top so just not used to seeing it. The fit is correct everywhere else, could just be small variances from shoe to shoe. I love these, they go with everything.

Dan, is this sale on Shreveports on AE or the shoe bank?

I'm looking to add the Cavanaughs in Oxblood to my modest collection this weekend since they will be $225 rather than $275.
I'll be needing another pair of shoe trees, another brush and cloth, then oxblood polish.

All of this for under the price of retail for the cavanaughs alone... what a steal at this point in the year!

Do you think my merlot wide basic belt will be close enough to be used with the oxblood cavanaughs? There's no wide basic belt in oxblood.

Wait until you receive the shoes and compare. I personally wouldn't buy the oxblood belt, and would put the money towards covering some other hole.

Right now, I'm using a Dark Chili belt for Oxblood shoes, but I'm eyeballing that Clay Ave. on sale. I wouldn't pay full price for the Dupont Ave. though.

So I had to order another pair of dark brown (cognac 4045) McTavishes, as I was not very happy with first one that received. The new ones (middle picture) are very light, similar to walnut. It fits great and appears that it's marked as seconds because of the color. I prefer the darker shade, however. I would think that it will darken up if I use dark chili cream on them, but I am not sure if one is supposed to use color polish on this type of leather.

I have 2 pairs of Oxblood shoes so I sprung for the poplar at full price and it looks great. If you have another Oxblood pair, couldn't hurt you to go for it. I'm also incredibly picky with having a "matching" set though.
