Mine were a pretty dark reddish brown. I've found them to be very versatile.
Quoted for truth. And this place is the worst of the worst for the addiction. *still drooling over the shell Strands*

Do you taper your pants leg or buy them to fit as such? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The best I can describe it: mine are between Oxblood and Dark Chili, with some brown thrown in. They are a deep brownish red, and I think the Dublin leather has a lot to do with making them appear darker.
Wore my dark brown Strands for the second time (hard to tell, but I'm wearing a navy suit), and I'm really beginning to like the Dainite soles!
I don’t know how it started. I really can’t recall.
I remember needing some new dress shoes and I headed for the mall.
“Sneakers” were everywhere. No quality could I see.
That’s when the salesman said, “You should check out A and E.”
Chili Bentons were the first pair and I was sure that would do.
Then I bought a pair in black and suddenly I had two.
“I work hard and I deserve them.” What harm could there be?
I found some Regent Streets on Ebay and suddenly I had three.
I don’t really like odd numbers and black Byrons made it four.
My wife was starting to purse her lips, but really, “What’s one more?”
Black Winhalls made it five and Mapletons made it six
“Damn I have a lot of black” but it was a problem I could fix.
The compliments were rolling in and my friends said I look great.
But the Chester’s and Fairfax arrived and I was up to eight.
“Not another pair I’ll buy, I will never shop again!”
But it was then I noticed that my hanging shoe bag would hold ten.
I bought Park Avenue and Fairgate, Shreveport and many other shoes.
I filled my first hanging bag and now I have filled two.
I should have thought about what I was doing and purchased carefully.
Because then I started counting and found I had twenty-three.
So tread lightly friend and enjoy your wife while she's there.
Because tomorrow is another day and there's always another pair.
these looks great , I have just started using VSC on my shell and liking it so far . I am yet to apply it to brown shell strands , hope they will come out as good as yours..
Along the lines, my next door neighbor in my apartment building has finally asked my wife what's up with the AE boxes that get delivered to us every week Viva shoe lovers anonymous!
Brown calf? People are gonna disagree, but I think that's the money makeup for Strand, more so than walnut calf or brown shell (which I had and then sold).
Congrats, man. Looking strong there.
No, it's just like that. Got it from Banana Republic. They're not tapered but probably look so from the angle I took, just slim through out the legs.
yeah, the brown would be the only color I would wear with a suit and those look great. (I just can't get into the black strands, and I'm on the fence with wearing a strand in oxblood with a suit.)
Agreed, I wore my walnut strands with a suit and before I left the house I changed my belt and shoes. Just too loud for my personality.
I 100% agree! As I was telling @Dd1101 in PM (who is a great buyer AND seller!), I lusted over brown shell Strands for a long time. So much that I never wore my calf Strands because I was on the lookout for a pair in shell.
But eventually the brown calf version won me over. And when I saw a pair in Dainite that looked a fair bit darker than my leather sole pair, I promptly snatched them up! And couldn't be happier!
