Shoebank lists a Dark Brown, which is the Cognac, in both sizes, for $137, at the Riverhead, NY store, which is less than what I paid for mine. Give them a call.

The Fifth's in chili get a look today. I have a high arch but the V is reasonable. These are very comfortable shoes for me in 9.5EEE. My McGregors in the same size are a bit roomier but aren't quite as comfy over a few miles in Manhattan. I also have a lot of tip wear on all of my 65s (PA, Fifth's, Strand, McGregror). Not a fan of toe taps, but I may go there. Metal or plastic?

First post in the new thread. Just sent my Strands in for recrafting after many years of faithful service. First time recrafting, so cannot wait to see how they look.

I agree those pants are tapered will and make those PA's look really smart. With that said did you purchase your pants to fit like so or did you have them tapered? Do must goes have them tapered or buy them that way? Thx

I just drooled. And not even a little dabble of drool, it was a lot.

Thanks! For some reason these aren't showing many rolls despite being a year old. They were visibly flawless (to my admittedly untrained eye) $325 seconds and I could not be happier with them.

The shoe bank went and did it again. I went to my local AE, tried on loafers for an hour making sure the size would match with all the different lasts. Ended up ordering 3 pairs for 300. Chocolate suede (Cavanaugh), brown (Patriot), and of course, my beloved oxblood (ascher).
Thanks uncle Sam for the refund...

How did you get three pairs for $300?

I rounded down a bit much. With trees it'll be 400. Ascher was the most at 150

Thanks....You just pushed me over the edge on deciding to purchase that exact shoe. I'm calling my local AE Store now to place my order. Would feel guilty ordering them online instead of letting my local guy get the credit he so rightly deserves.

I was just in the store about an hour ago purchasing the Sea Island loafers and almost ordered the Shell Strands when i was in there. Will post pictures and impressions once i receive them in the mail. I tried them on in size 10d, but the fit was too narrow. My guy put me in a pair of 9EEE and said he believes that fit will be perfect.

Thanks for the suggestion. Called them and the only pair left is a 10.5 and is on hold for a Canadian customer waiting to be sized [IMG]
