Does it look ok to wear white/off-white shirt and trousers together like this, it there is a belt breaking them up or even a jacket in a different colour? Or does it just always look silly to have trousers and shirt so closely matched?

Looks good with the jackets, but these are warm weather clothes, and that is not when you want to be reluctant to take your jacket off.
A very pale blue shirt or very pale tan trousers can give a similar effect without looking like a 50s ice cream salesman.
