1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I would not call any of those classics. Favorites, yes. Classics, nope.

I use the word classics interchangeably with favorites. I meant favorites.

Good docu.....but I never got the "Illmatic" is a "groundbreaking" album. It doesn't crack my top 30.

Not gonna read that. Is it some bullshit screed about how Beyoncé should have won for best album?

To be fair, Beyonce is a better rapper than Iggy Azaelia

New Kendrick = Digable Planets + early Ice Cube.

It's way different than GKMC so I expect a lot of people who only became fans of him from that album to be disappointed. In ways it reminds me of Section 80 more. I really like it though. No other rap album out there right now sounds like it.

The new hip-hop duo with an old NY sound

If you’re an East Coast hip-hop fan (and why wouldn’t you be?), you’ll love PRhyme. Even if you’re not an East Coast hip-hop fan (and seriously, why aren’t you?), but you just love music, you’ll love PRhyme.

The new duo is comprised of rap veterans DJ Premier (who’s produced albums for Nas and Jay-Z) and Royce Da 5’9” (a regular collaborator with Eminem). And their self-titled album has that old-school Brooklyn sound that even non-hip-hop fans will want to sway to.

Expect an easy nine songs, involving organ chords and electric guitars alongside a live drum kit. Oscar winner Common makes an appearance on the slow jam “Wishin’,” but it’s Ab-Soul and Mac Miller’s more upbeat “Dat Sound Good” that’s our personal favorite.

It doesn’t matter if Jay and Bey are abandoning us for the West Coast. You’re a ride-or-die New Yorker. Hence, you deserve some classic tunes.
