I'm really out of the loop when it comes to new rap. Can you guys make some comparisons for me to older rappers/styles? I've not actually heard of anyone named in this thread. Where do you find out about this new shit?
Who have you heard of/liked, it's probably easier to go off of that.

I think you'd like that J. Cole mixtape, Ed.

Why, is J. Cole not on it?

The last Clipse album was amazing seriously over looked. Right now Rick Ross is my favorite rapper out.

FWIW I've been getting a kick out of retard rap lately.

    Wacka Flocka Flame

Wakka is a beast he is like a mix of Master P and Lil John.... can't rap much but makes you want to smack someone for living.

Yes. It was excellent. The last 1/2 was all Trip Hop. Anyone else super psyched for Apollo Kids? I love me some ghostface (Just kopped 2 tix to the Wu tang reunion show in NYC)

Plies has always been really funny.

I like Shad. He's too nice to ever really cut into mainstream charts, but he does the "ordinary dude" thing okay without being too socially conscious/preachy

Can we talk Drake for a sec? Why does no one seem to by bother by the fact that:

    A) He was raised by his Jewish mom in Toronto, but drawls like Weezy F Baby.
    B) He seems incapable of joy.

Because he wants this shit forever, mayne.

(I don't get the Drake thing, either)

Also, I don't know half the guys people are talking about here, but I really like Wale.

Yes. I like it. I like anything that has tuned drums, apparently.
