Just a heads up for everyone....I don't know if anyone here wears Paul Smith, but all of the shirts being sold as NWT for $35-40 are 100% fake. I read a replica watch forum and one of the dealers there is selling the exact same ones:

That yellow one is quite nice.

Wait, it's a fake?

To be honest, the brand holds no cachet for me at least. I'd buy it as a yellow shirt with an unusual cuff for a reasonable price.

Oh, and try not to 'tar' all the sellers with one brush. If something is selling for well below RRP then as always caveat emptor.

I really dislike Paul Smith London, the designs are nice, but the fit is meant for fuller cut men.

The Paul Smith mainline shirts are really something else though. I saw one which had irregular cuff holes, with 5 MOP buttons on each sleeve, in 3 different colors. The placket buttons were also different colors and also MOP. Really slim fit, a medium fits smaller than most SLIM brands small.

Anyways, this whole post is basically a rant on London line haha.

Yup, the markets in Beijing, Shanghai have these shirts alongwith DKNY, Zegna and other Eurobrands. Also, they sell for about less than $5USD.

I've purchased many and while half are very obviously fake, the others seem pretty good. I realize that paying $50 for a shirt means it's probably fake but even then, they are really good quality and they fit me well. They usually come with french knots too. For now I'll claim blissful ignorance.

What everyone seems to be saying as that the shirts aren't fake, they're real. What's fake is the label and as we all know, once you're wearing something what is written inside it matters little. I wouldn't buy one but that doesn't mean someone else won't be happy with it.

I agree. There is a 'slimcut' London line, but it's not nearly as fitted as mainline shirts. I stopped buying "london" and only pick up mainline now, the details are usually awesome, as you mentioned. One of my faves being different sized buttons on the cuffs, in teal MoP.

Re: fake shirts, at that price you'd be silly to think you were getting a real Paul Smith, but if it fits well and looks good, who cares at that price. I bought one a couple years ago to see what it was about and it's def fake (I have half a closet of PS shirts to compare with) but fits really damn good. A JCrew ill fitting shirt costs more. It would be more of a crime if they were selling at PS prices, which they're not.

PS line, about $200

London line, $200-300

Mainline $400-500

fakes are nearly always the "London" line.

I wouldn't mind buying any of stated above. I don't care about the name but for $50 it's a bargain.

Their MTM shirts start at $900 too... They fly in their tailor from London to measure you... What a joke.
