Hi all,
in the process to find a nice everyday oxoford shoes I'm evaluating also the Afred Sargent models: are they good shoes ? How do they wear in size w.r.t. classic shoes like Grenson and Church's ?

Thanks a lot,

Engi

Wearing AS today. They are good shoes for their price in the UK. They wear as well as Grenson and Church.

I like the Westminsters I have for the price. The use of oak bark channelled leather soles on the Premier Exclusive line is beaut but the choice in this line is limited.

For anyone who has shoes from both the Premier line and the Premier Exclusive line, how does the standard of the Premier line compare to the standard of the Premier Exclusive line?

Very nice shoes with excellent price-value relation.

I can only recommend them. You can get them nicely discounted, if you look around a bit.

I got my first pair from herringshoes.co.uk, but they don't sell them anymore.
My second pair I bought from this Ebay-seller:
http://myworld.ebay.de/exemplary_shoes/
He is absolutely reliable.

He sells shoes directly from the factory shop from time to time, but those are Seconds, althought I could not find any flaw on mine.

Other sources are:
http://www.shoesnorthampton.co.uk/about_sargents.htm
http://www.pediwear.co.uk/alfredsargent.php
http://www.theshopforshoes.com/acata...ollection.html
http://www.shoesinternational.co.uk/...id=22&gender=1

Never used them, but I guess all of them have a Sale twice a year (I know pediwear has).

Good luck!

I would suggest it's all it the soles as I can't discern a difference in leather quality. The Premier Exclusives as other have said; include oak bark tanned soles with close channel stitching. Mine also have a bevelled waist and very closely trimmed welt:

'Premier Exclusive' above 'Premier':

I love AS shoes, especially the brogue (Dartmouth) and semi-brogue (Chatham) models in the Premier Collection range.

The AS Blenheim is a beautiful shoe. Less clunky than Church's, IMO.

Blenheim is a solid choice... (actually, the shoe below is Blenheim II - not sure what the difference is)

Thanks,
